Registering ps4 to service account

Hi, I recently just purchased a copy final fantasy xiv: ARR for the ps4. I can't seem to add the license to my pre-existing services account at the moment. I wish to access my already made character data from my time on ps3. The game boots up fine and I proceed to login with my square enix ID and password. I then get placed on this page



From the directions it says "Please select the product you wish to add to the account." On the image you can see my mouse icon over the check box. For some reason I am unable to check off that small circle box. I have pressed almost every button on the ps4 controller but nothing seems to work. So I click on next to move forward. it then brings me to this page



This page tells me that I will need to have the ps4 account tied to my service account before I can use my pre-existing character data (it's highlighted in yellow)

So basically I cannot access pre-existing characters without having that circle check box marked off as in the first image. the only option i am left with is this



I really do not want to "start over" with new characters as I already have a lot of classes maxed out. Does anyone know the input to check off the box in the first image so I can play with my pre-existing characters?

Why did you bother getting a new copy of the game, and not utilise the completely free upgrade feature.

Though upon reading the page, it seems you should not be getting this issue anyhow.

Googling tells me that you should be logging into mog station to add the new service code.

You go through PSN only when you're registering the game for the first time. To register additional copies (windows, or future ps4 copies), you have to do so through the Mog Station or they won't be linked.

She did. And then she bought the game again. The only time it forces you to create a new service account is because you already have that service.

For OP, double check your Mog Station (sqex.to/Msp) to see if you haven't already upgraded. If you have, create the new service account on the PS4, close the game, and then go back to the Mog Station and cancel it.

Yes, which means logging into mog station and adding the ps4 as a service option before attempting to do what you are currently doing.

At the present time, the existing account does not have any notion that you have the PS4 version which is why PSN is 'misbehaving'.
