    Paladin - Novus to Nexus

    So for the Nexus chain, if anyone can answer this, do I need to have fully finished Novus'ing BOTH Curtana and Holy Shield before I can start the Nexus quest?

    Yeah, you do.

    The quest was red when I went to novus my shield (did my sword first), and became gold immediately after equiping the shield.

    I recently complete my Sword and need to get Alexandrite for my shield. Does anyone know if I can just have the Novus Sword equipped to farm Alexandrite from Fates?

    Novus works for Fate alex. But it's a 1% drop rate. You are much better off doing hunts or even dungeons.
