Please start enforcing the 1000 character post limit

There's an exploit people have abused on this forum: long posts that could easily be expressed within the confines of this forum's rules.

We've all seen the long posts about how SE must change this now or give us this or riot or I'm quitting and this is why and while they should be limited to forum limit, this exploit allows a simple edit to bypass it.

If SE wanted us to make longer posts they would've set a higher limit.

Now this problem shows itself more in complaints than praise since people who are happy with things don't generally feel like they need to convince the producers of this game of how they've been lied to or wronged and those kinds of posts don't need the walls of text or elaborate suggestions on how to fix their favorite job or how item levels for garuda ex should be raised as if that would make duty finder filled with experts but in any case brevity is the soul of wit and if you can't get your point across in less than a thousand words you probably need to work on

Enforcing the limit? Nope... the limit is stupid. If someone wants to bitch and moan, let them. Why do you care so much. Do you actually read peoples "screw it i quit" threads? Let them go fail at something else. The 1k limit needs to be removed, plain and simple.

Your own post came to 999 characters just to talk about how you think they should enforce the 1,000 character limit. For most things it's nowhere near enough space.

I agree. We should not be allowed to break the confines of a thousand characters per post. The limit is there, along with daily post limits, to ensure no one voice is heard too loudly. By not properly limiting this it has only made sure that impatient posters waste their daily allotment while seasoned forum veterans can sit in comfort and make very verbose replies therein to their peers and academic adversaries. Furthermore it makes one wonder why the limit exists in the first place if it is not enforced upon all users. The injustice of breaking 1k characters should not be allowed to stand. This also reflect ingame protocol: nobody talks in extremely verbose fashion in the ingame chat. It is always broken up until multiple lines. Multiple lines should also be required in forum posts. It is also agreed potato that nobody wants to read an exceptionally long post. Making such a long and wordy statement is likely to get people to skip or ignore key points of one's argument instead of staying succinct and to the point.

Explain to me how having to split your post into 3-5 smaller posts is any more productive than one single large post? Both the daily limits to posting and the character limit are completely unnecessary.

1000 characters is too much. It might be all right on the Japanese forums, since their language is overflowing with exceptionally long words and requires tons more spacing and punctuation, but on the Western language forums, it really ought to be lowered.

The forum should also enforce a one post per page setting on all threads. Nobody reads more than one post at a time anyway.

Uhh, how about no? Think about how horribly fragmented guides would have to be... My desynth guide is 36,563 characters so far, and that's after I shortened it a ton.
