I would actually be completely ok with this idea (all facilities requiring marks and/or seals) and kind of like it. By itself, it would encourage specialization without enforcing it and gives us a use for all those darned marks. And if we really wanted to be bastardos/biatches ...
All facility use would have to be paid for with either Guild Marks or Company Seals, instead of just gil.
Any player for any given week can only earn X amount of Guild Marks, due to the fact that they can only be earned for guild-specific guildleves. A player that spreads his guildleves across three or four crafting classes will have less guild marks for each, and thus may not be able to take advantage of facilities that grant greater bonuses because they cost more marks. As opposed to a player that dedicates all of his guildleves to one craft and has a larger pool of guild marks to access the better facilities to allow the crafting of better items.
Again, that's if we want to be total pricks about this specialization thing.
Specialization will take care of itself in the future. The cap will not remain at 50. It will increase as the game progresses. With the current rate of progression <98K to 49> crafters will have to concentrate on one specialty just to keep up. Leveling other crafts will only be done in order to satisfy sub requirements for the main craft. The current system allows player to build a solid foundation for those subcrafts. The one thing I do not want to see is the system already in place in FFXI that forces you to remain in one craft til completion. This limits a p[layers ability to adjust to changing game and economic conditions.
I'm all for it as it takes away the botter advantage of having every craft ranked up. But I really think the cap should be 2 or 3 rather than 1. There's no need to copy XI 100%.

Bump because I like this idea.

Well it is your idea. I should hope you like it.
Too bad the thread that has the most reasoned debate and isn't full of personal attacks get's the least love. Such is life, I guess. The nice intelligent quiet boys never get the girl ...
