- Prices ranging from 800k to 10million
- Separate personal housing areas from Free Companies
- Personalized options for house styles and landscaping
- Varied locations including Costa Del Sol and Little Solace
- Armoire, Crystal Bell, etc. access
- Retainers appear as NPCs when not venturing
- Expandable options including more rooms and stories
Personal housing should be truly personal. Right now it is not personal since there is nothing to differentiate it from FC Housing. What we have currently is not what was promised nor is it what anyone was expecting. Please implement real Personal housing.
I want all of the above! Please include a Starlight Celebration-y village as a location as well.
The bottom line is, I refuse to compete with 7500 other server mates for pretend land, only to hear "they are all sold out". It's PRETEND LAND, if it sells out you make more! You don't tell us "its sold out". that's just wrong...don't have us waiting years for something and then pull this half assed "we ran out" crap. you can't run out of imaginary land!

Both options would be perfect. Have the cheap MOG house all instanced for the masses as well as current housing for those who want and are willing to pay for more.
I don't mind the wards existing as they are as an option. It would be nice if they added a single house with a yard within a small instanced zone for those whom want something more secluded, accessible, and customizable. There's a walkway to nowhere in each of the wards, could use that as the jumping off point for this. They should also add the ability to rent a permanent room from the inn keeps in each town to just have an instanced room without having to be part of an FC. Said room should have a small balcony for a few small pieces of outdoor furnishings and a small garden plot at a price any player could afford. I think these options together would please most people give or take details.
Also, allow co-ownership for all properties.
That would be my dream come true.

Funny how they didn't instance one of the few things a lot of players wouldn't mind being instanced. Instead we get a ton of instanced battle content and semi open world housing. I'm only half serious I guess, just a stupid thought that crossed my mind.
Or SE can look at how NcSoft did AION's set up which they kinda have started a bit

The way housing should be can be seen by traveling 15 years back in time and seeing FFXI at launch. It was that simple, and Squenix got it right 15 years ago.
They wanted to do something different here, and that is give us a neighborhood, rather than a closed off box. I really cannot fault them for that, it's a really nice idea. They've just failed to realize that concept in a workable manner, that's the only problem here.
Honestly; just work on a new version of the three Inn rooms with a balcony that can fit a few things (including a rail plant pot which is equal to a small garden plot). We'd all have a nice room we can customize, with a nice view, in an easily reached location, with a garden equivalent. This is exactly what they should have been working on since implementing Private Rooms, instead of locking Private Rooms behind people who already have a house.
Having housing wards and what is effectively a Mog House is really the best solution here. Housing wards were a nice idea, but it just isn't going to fulfill the demand, unless they have some miracle planned, they really need to start work on Private Inn Rooms. Some people might think that makes Private Rooms redundant, but I think the idea behind those is that it's technically part of your Company House.
Also, one other thing houses should be is fun. Once you've set up furniture they kinda stop being that... Hope the Golden Saucer gives us some new furniture and mini-games we can place in houses/rooms, having a Free Company based Triple Triad tournament would be pretty cool. An actually reason to play around in a house would be great. Gardening and Chocobo Raising are both done outside after all.

i think too that the inn room must be allowed, throught quest or other means, to get upgraded with a balcony and the capacity to decorate it.
even if i feel they more need to give us acces to the civilian quarter that exist in every city already and use it like a place where people can buy a condo with balcony. it's not different from the mog house, indeed it's instanced, but i'm tired of all the people that complaint about instanced stuff, when it allows everybody to share the same game with the same access to the whole content of the game.
Price is not the problem, the inability for all players to access this content IS.
So the rooms are expensive, if there was a way all or MOST players who put forth the effort could actually get a personal house none of us would have much to complain about. But, for most of us even if we had the 5-10 million gill for a small plot at the time of the patch, they were sold out before most of us were off work, let alone downloaded the patch.
We waited since launch, and THIS is the best they could come up with? What about Future FC's who want to buy land for their guild halls? Sucks to be them I guess right?
They pushed back 2.0 because they wanted it to be PERFECT, or as close to perfect as they could. They should have kept individual player housing on hold until they could deliver something that most players at least stood a chance of enjoying. Because that is the bottom line, most of us are sore out of luck.
