Thread: FFXIV housing is very underwhelming

With today's 'personal housing fiasco' I was planning on writing an extensive post detailing my complaints, but decided to make it short in the end.

tl;dr FFXIV developers are doing 'personal housing' wrong

Maybe due to lack of creativity, inability to perceive obvious bad ideas or not being really serious about the matter, but I think many players will agree today that we are disappointed.
Having FC housing arranged into wards was an interesting idea and even made me few friends, but for personal housing I expect something different.

What exactly?

• instanced zones, separate for every character
• many, MANY different zones to choose from
• ability to posess many houses at the same time (limit of around 30 per character would do)
• many, MANY different house layouts, not like 3 wards filled with copy-pasted houses differing only in roof colours
• ability to invite other people to personal house zone
• weekly/monthly personal housing 'beauty contests', where each week people are able to vote for most beautiful houses, and you are able to go and visit the winners yourself
• fun, freedom, home sweet home

And how could it look like in the end, if developers did it right? Basically pretty much everything I've listed already exists in a random free to play MMO
