    Housing prices are realistic?

Hear me out, if you think about gil in terms of yen, an 8 million yen 2-floor household seems pretty reasonable in the real world. Especially when you consider that a whole new room can be expanded for 850,000 yen. It also makes sense that depending on the market, Large Houses, aka Mansions can go for as high as 100-125 million yen which are realistically seen in Japanese real estate. Here are some examples I've looked up:

    Small House

    Medium House

    Large House

To sum it up, houses are purely aesthetic, and while they may cost a lot, they're really supposed to. Housing is the largest investment you can make in this game, and was really implemented with the fact that multiple players would be paying the bill on the house. 30 million between 50 players is a measly 600,000 from each player.

In the real world you also take out a mortgage. You also can get money back out of that investment.

This system is out of reach for players. There are no plots left on balmung except a few 35's and one 87. The prices are too high. The player housing should have been something different than FC housing.

    The whole system is broken.

Well in the real world you also have to think about food, toiletries, general medical expenses, transportation, and insurance where as in the virtual world you pay nothing for a night's stay at the inn and really only have repairs as a consistent cost. In fact, your character doesn't need to pay anything for food, rest, or medical expenses at all.In comparison to getting a loan on a house which normally requires a down payment and normally leaves you paying 3-5 times the initial amount in pure interest. Even if the game allowed you to take out a fixed mortgage I highly doubt players would use it if they found out they'd be spending a whole lot more in the long run.

I also believe that you can sell houses that you own to other FCs though I'm not entirely sure (people are indeed selling them, but I don't know if they're just transferring over the guild or not).

So instead of a game being a game where people to go enjoy themselves and do things they might not be able to or are not -realistic- in real life. It should be just like real life, depressing, a struggle and impossible to enjoy unless you are born into a rich family or get lucky and win the lottery...right?

    Gils are not yen.
    End of debate.
