As someone who managed to snag a small plot, I think SE handled this in the worst way possible. It's absurd to lock gardening and choco stables behind housing and then make it impossible for the vast majority of your players to get said housing. It's nice for the plots to be a little bit exclusive, but the only fair way to have done this would've been to make everyone's personal house instanced, which is what they should've done. If I -wasn't- lucky enough to get a plot, I would be quitting for sure. All I've done for the past few months is hoard gil and housing items because of how excited I was for it.
