Wonder if they could just work it so there are two types of Personal Housing;

The instance version, which is relatively cheap and locked away in an instance, allowing for nigh-limitless amounts of players to purchase them.
The neighborhood version, which is much the same as FC Housing, but with a greater cost as a result.

They probably should just do that, lets face it, plenty of people are making solo FCs just to do that anyway.

Some people like being in a virtual neighborhood. Others just want a House to call their own. Why can't we just have both?

A Room =/= a House.

Also, people without a FC House? Main reason Private Rooms should have been Private Inn Rooms from the beginning.

If absolutely everyone could have a Private Room, I'm sure that would reduce a lot of the tension, but they opted to lock that behind FC Housing for Gods knows what reason. I don't know about everyone else, but they probably could just work Private Rooms into an instanced Personal Housing; there are plenty Inns around Eorzea, they could just give us a room with a balcony for us to customize. Why didn't they do that over the past nine months, instead of the literal nothing they actually did?

I'm sure some people would still want an actual House to customize, but meh. In a debate of instanced verses non-instanced, I really don't get why we can't have both...

What if your housing is instanced, and you get to choose the backdrop beyond the garden fence? I for sure would love to have a permanent snowy background with glittering Starlight Celebration lights, or have a house in the middle of a sparkling blue lake. All include weather effects and day/night. But I'm not sure how much server load it will take up.

This pretty much should have been an option IMO.

Like a secluded glade with an entrance that is a path that fades away as it stretches off to nowhere. Maybe with a pond, a couple of additional paths to small dead ends in the woods or to a cave, a large plot of land that you could build/expand your house on (ideally with out-buildings and with the interiors in the same instance as the exterior) and NO RISK OF EVER LOSING IT.

Let people pick which approach they prefer. I'd take that over the rubbish implementation of neighborhoods we got in an instant.

Hey Ravno, it's called "PERSONAL HOUSING".

I see nothing in "personal housing" that mean it should be available without any time investissement. And 2 to 4M is not much. In fact, if you want something fancy, you will pay a lot more to get the fourniture.

Gambling on to much RNG and hoping you actually get said materia that is worth that much as well as competing agaisnt half the server (as well as rmt) doing the exact same thing, AND someone having the time to sit there SBING all day to get the materia, and then you suggest "Get a few FC members" when the entire reason behind this is personal housing.. which ONE player can own. Not a good suggestion.

That work well, and fast. Few hours is enought and no need to spend the whole day. As for competing against half the server, since the other half is buying materia to make his novus weapon, that's fine.
Anyway, that's just one exemple. There is a tons of ways to get gils in this game.
Sure, if you're only focused on your ilvl, you will not get more than that.
