First off let me address the inevitable "who are you to judge this game" comments that will come from this. People criticize because we are paying to play a game that they are making. They also seem to ignore their subscribers, that's right we pay to play so we are more than players, and try to put out stuff people don't want or put out what people want without giving the majority of people access to it. On my server a large personal house is 80m gil. That is totally ridiculous. How can you charge a single person the same price you charged a group of people for. They offer little to no information about the next step in relic progression, asking us to work together to find it out. Problem is that time wasted on this trying to find information equals out to money wasted since it is pay to play. Plus, like every other time they patch the game, many people are getting 90k'd repeatedly today.

While I realize it is not their intention, they seem to almost be trying to push players away from the game through their own contradictions and lies. "housing will be equal to the amount of gil you make going from 1-50"---Lie. "we want all players at all levels to enjoy all the content of this game", the excuse they gave for dumbing down the mechanics on the game (see elemental resistance or lack there of) -- obviously not the case. Add this with the fact that instead of pushing us out a variety of content or systems that actually add to game play, they spend dev time making new mounts and minions that do nothing for anyone. I've supported this game since it's launch (1.0) but it really is getting to be to much at this point.

I am an older gamer (no im not giving an age) and I have been a fan on FF series since the first one on my NES but I find it disheartening that I have to almost force myself to play this game now just because I am paying for it. Luckily my next payment should line up with 2.4's release so it will serve as the back breaker for me. There are to many great games out there that I could spend money on each month that actually care about players to continue to pay for a game that literally feels like it is giving me the middle finger every time they add something. I realize that this is not how everyone feels and that this is going to start a war of white knights telling me how stupid I am for feeling this way but it is still how I feel.

Sometimes, even with games you really like, it comes a point where you stop playing, and do something else.

This exactly. It's not a statement meant to be condescending or patronizing, but soothing. Maybe this game, in its current version, isn't "for" you at this moment. If that's the way you feel, perhaps it would be best if you stopped subscribing, atleast for a time. Maybe come back after 2.4 hits and see if that will re-ignite your interest in the game. God knows we all don't get thrilled over the idea over running the same content every single day. If you're bored, aren't interested in adapting, or feel like you're being nudged negatively, it's time for a break. It's really the nature of MMOs as a whole, for better or worse.

It is getting a bit harder to play, though I have to admit sometimes it's easy to put the game down. This is why I am okay playing sometimes an hour or two a day. It's a bit of a mixture of the player base and what they seem to try to achieve as a game.

Its the time invested I think that makes it hard to just up and quit playing. I mean at this point I have put alot of time into this toon and I really do not want to drop the account but, as I said, it's just really starting to feel like I'm on a plane that's going down.

It only has to be permanent if you want it to be. I certainly understand what you mean, though- my characters in XI and XIV are much closer to me than most of my worldly possessions. God knows I had a hell of a time giving up XI when I did.

If it's any consolation, I do the social team is constantly browsing the forums for players' opinions, which they relay back to the development team.
