well, dragoon synergy bard in PVE while in PvP it's vise versa. But -- skills sharp the steal. And win also depends on human factor. Anyway it's absolutely no problem to any of the class kill another class.

I would like to see the balance in PVP like it was in Lineage II, one class could kill 3 other classes but could be killed by other 3 classes etc.. It was not perfect but I liked it.
Here it is like as a BRD i can kill 2 classes and 6 others can kill me. I am not exactly talking about mass pvp, in frontlines I can kill anyone while they aren't focusing me.

Any melee can take out a Bard 1v1.
The thing is, there is no real 1v1 in this game, so this discussion isn't very relevant.
Even in the few times 1v1 scenarios happen (like lone scout vs lone flag defender), you can always call for help.

If you're having trouble as a Bard, all you have to do is knock them back, bind, and retreat into a safe area or at least next to your allies.
Sometimes it's unavoidable in Wolve's Den, but really, in Frontlines, you should not intentionally be trying to 1v1 ANY melee characters on your Bard. That is just basic strategy.

Bards aren't considered good because they rack up kill streaks or even because they do lots of damage. Bards are considered good because they can interrupt skills and spells from a safe distance and can offer some party support with songs, and Manasong can be a life saver too. Not to mention they have emergency backup healing with their LB... THIS REALLY HELPS VERSUS CASTER LB - CAN HELP SAVE ENTIRE PARTIES.

If you're looking for Bard 1v1 fights vs Melee, then yeah, you're going to lose every time. Pick another class if you want to do that.

Never realized that Bard has this problem o.O

I tried bard for just 2 or 3 times in pvp, but when I realized that my Misery's End striked for 98 HP of damage...
I switched back to BLM xD

Anyway a lot of times enemies don't have all CDs up so if he waste Weapon Throw and Spineshatter Dive (like use it consequentially allowing you to Repelling shot him) you may run away while attacking.
One of the worst things that I saw among MNK and BRD expecially in frontline is Blood for Blood bad timing, I know that is very trivial for expert Bards, but more then I time I switched focus on who activate it and it help me a lot xD

Bards, White mages and Black mages are my predilect prey. Sometimes with Warrior, other with Dragoon and even sometimes with paladin. I like the feeling as be the predator when they run and try to scape, like a wolf or lion maybe the prey scape sometimes, but is very rewarding when you hunt them and finally after try all, they died/lost by your Lance or Axe.

The most barbaric kill was me and three more (two warrior and two paladins) (mine friends) attacking an alone bard in secure when we scout XD surprising him and surrounding it on four sides. He call his friends but they need three tryies to defeat us and so we gain a lot of points for our team as finally won the match

So, i guess: No chance or veryyyyyyyy few for a Bard can beat a good Dragon, Paladin or Warrior solo, at least no one bard kill me solo, maybe if three or four of them against me then yes.

Man... to be hones I feel that ANY class can kill ANY class in a 2 VS 1 considering that both group have a brain, if you are fighting tard ok, you can kill a lot even solo.
In the worst case in a 2 vs 1 the lone one can flee.

Well maybe its hard to believe then, but i kill sometimes two characters against me solo XD but as you said, then i guess they only attack me randomly and don't use their 100% potencial or don't have brain XD
