Hey guys did you know that servers can be upgraded if needed......
More you know...........
As of now.... no they dont.
All these complex effects/ mechanics and other stuff people have been whining about isnt just from the server not being able to handle it....... the game consoles do play their parts and people that still game with potato of a computer
then scrap the ridiculous wards system for the personal housing. XI's system worked just fine. We didn't need FC houses with rooms inside fc houses and then player houses in the same wards so they have to add more wards (to the tune of what, a thousand at least per server?). People asked for a FC house, and a personal house.
The FC housing system remains as it is. The rooms inside the FC houses were not needed.
The player housing system should have been the room system, entered from some origination point, purchased from an npc, and created on demand.
They need to hire a consultant, because they are doing everything in the most resource-intensive way possible. You can't do that and then cry "but server capacity!"... especially when your decade-old mmo somehow managed to accommodate all the players on hamster equipment.
You forgot to mention the limitations of the PS3 and continual support of that platform.
I don't give a moogle's @$$ about personal housing. I have my room in my company and I am fine with that. But I am playing this game for two future things.... Dark Knights.... and Airships. I will flip a table if I don't get my Falcon. I'm defending you on this housing thing SE, please don't make me regret wearing my White-Knight armor today guys.i really don't think airships will ever happen, i think they budgeted for ~400'000 subscribers, and everything after that is pure profit. i don't think they'll go over their budget and add any sort of interactive flight, as that would require modelling a world. that is largely shortcuts + texture bgs. maybe they'll have a cute retro world map 'zone' that lets you fly over to cute chibi versions of landmarks.
They apparently can't even make server space for instanced housing, what makes you think they can handle players flying air ships around in real time?I don't give a moogle's @$$ about personal housing. You're giving them free license to implement those two features in the worst state imaginable.I don't give a moogle's @$$ about personal housing. I have my room in my company and I am fine with that. Well this is a difficult issue when you talking about server expansion. Honestly and people are going to hate this but housing is going to be popular the first few months then the hype will die out much like 2.1 and FC housing. As consumer we tell them to spare no expense when it comes to us and we are right to do so. As a company they see it from the other end where they spend millions in more server only to find out it was needed, the companies bottom line and all.
It is time SE expands on servers and add another server hub to Europe in prep for 3.0. The players have shown there is enough interest in the game that it's not going to have a steep drop in subs.
