Loss of lock when running through Eastern Thanalan

    Platform: Windows 7 64-bit
    ISP: Qwest
    Type of Internet Connection: Fiber
    Internet Connection Speed: 40Mbit
    Date & Time: 08/01/2011 10:00 AM Mountain
    Frequency: Often
Character Name: Coors Light & Dolphin Girl
    Race: Lala
    World: Lindblum
    Class/Skill Rank: ARC 24 & CON 23
    Physical Level: 50 & 20
Area and Coordinates: Eastern Thanalan (south of Dry Creek) 38,27
    Party or Solo: Party
    NPC Name: N/A
    Monster Name: N/A
    In-Game Time: ~16:00
    Steps:
    1. Running through Eastern Thanalan in various locations if using follow by locking onto another player target and then initiating auto run you will lose the lock. This seems to be when transitioning between one coordinate to another but happens in various places not just 38,27.

This is because your characters are changing zones and it isn't a bug. You just don't get the normal black screen loading to show that you are changing zones like you may be used to. Maps are now split up into multiple zones to lessen server loads and even the adventure guilds are a zone of its own.

    Greetings, Coors!
Thank you for posting your concerns about losing the target lock between areas. Although Hotohori does bring up a few good points (thanks, Hotohori!), I have made sure to submit your information to the development team, and they will make sure to thoroughly investigate this matter for you, based on your report. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that a direct response will be posted on this thread, but I do recommend checking on http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/ or http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/f...40-Patch-Notes for any information that may be provided regarding the development team's investigation. Thanks again for your report!
