Aesthetician/Fantasia for Retainers

Will there be an option to take our retainers to the aesthetician? Or use a fantasia (or equivalent) on them to change their race/gender completely?

I made my retainers before we were given the option of sending them off on ventures and changing their gear, so I didn't put much thought into their appearance beyond "which race doesn't look silly in the default retainer outfit." And now that I've started leveling them, I don't want to sacrifice the progress they've made just for vanity.

But I'm sure there are other players who would also like to update their retainers' appearance now and then, so I'm hoping that, at the very least, we can bring them to the aesthetician. What does everyone else think?

I updated mine by taking everything out of their inventories, getting rid of them, and hiring new retainers.

A harsh solution, but it worked for my purposes.

While I can’t promise a specific time period for implementation as of yet, the development team is looking into making it possible to change your retainer’s appearance in the future. Essentially, you can imagine that it would be like using a phial of fantasia on your retainer and you’d be able to change their race, gender, and other character creation options. We’ll also be looking into making it possible to choose the newly added hairstyles that were introduced with the aesthetician.

You must not have a lot of gil... It needs to be much more than that, or people will be changing their character on a daily basis.

What is the harm if people want to change the look of their retainers daily? O.o No one but the user sees them, it's just something to keep the player happy.



Also, fingers crossed we can change the personalities. One of my retainers is quite the snarky arse. lol. D:

50,000 gil. Best would be 250k gil so only those people use it who really really want it.
You can earn 5k gil in just 1 hour doing duty roulette

but I doubt SE would sell it for gil. It would cheapen the first month vet reward.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the ability to change the appearance of your retainers.
