I'm absolutely flabbergasted at the people saying "we're all equal" in this game. Uh. How exactly? If you have more resources (other player assistance, skill, TIME, gil, etc) than someone else, how are you exactly their equal...? I've never understood this way of thinking. If you want to say you're equal, then ALL variables involved in playing the game must be maintained consistently.
Go ahead and rebuttal saying "Well, you just didn't work hard enough for it so it's your fault." Then by your blanketed logic, we're all equal and have been given the same opportunities in real life as well, it's just your fault you didn't work hard enough to get to where I am.. right?
These online games DIRECTLY reflect how people act IRL. I mean look at how greedy people are about the market boards. And the cherry on the cake is the standard "rich" person response with: "I don't see a problem, stop complaining." But you know if they were put on the other side of the prosperity fence, they would be complaining just as much. It's hypocrisy at its finest.
See, part of the reason I play and enjoy these MMOs to escape the ugliness of the real world, but most of the social issues (and the people who cause them) IRL are impossible to get away from as they are just as apparent in a game. Just look in a mirror, folks.
So yes, the housing prices are ridiculous and to partition the few rich players from the rest of the player base and giving them access to exclusive content (choco raising/dyeing, gardening, housing) is ridiculous. Some people might not care about parts or all of that content, but your opinion in no way nulls someone else's opinion on the matter. If it's important to them, then gosh darn it, it is important to that person and you should respect that.
Flame me all you want, I won't be responding. This is just my two cents that I wish more people would see.
