Can a Dev please shed some light on this discussion of ours?

I'd even go so far as to say let's be far and do:
Class Evoker = casts shiny one time spells calling forth primals; unlocks job Summoner

Summoner = petjob that fully utilizes primal via a quested pact with the primal

This is why I have a problem with it, he orders you not to do it and you listen. He could have reduced you to ash right then and there. Imagine if after they release a summoner class you go and do that quest.
    "Don't summon other Primals!"
"Well.....I've kind of got one sitting right next to me, I'm not sure how you feel about that but I'm not going to stop it."

Again I'm 100% not against adding Summoner as long as it makes sense.

Almost seems as if SE put that part in the dialogue as a cheap way to get out of putting SMN in the game lol!

Anywho now they're saying they are going to.... We need some light shed on this debacle; someone summon carby up in this bish!

Further argument could be made that:

    - SMN in FFXIV would allow for more diverse party builds
    - SMN would allow for special primal fights from which non SMN could gain elemental gear
    - SMN in FFXIV would be aesthetically positive for bringing in new players that identify FF with the summons themselves

    Just to name a few

You could say the same of almost any class that's been in a previous FF before, aside from the Primal fights which don't necessarily need SMN to be in the game to do.

My Idea summoner is this !
    1. Summoner class can only choose 1 personal summon Ifrit, Shiva, Bahamut whatever ! they'll be your befriend where ever you go but you can only have one ! (so that each summoner can be really unique !!)
    2. and because of that restriction ! everytime you summon it will have to be really GRAND !
    3. Just like FF XI you go and do hard quest with help of friends to obtain your personal summon (example Ifrit go to HERE, Shiva go THERE)
    4. Summon monsters should be not too big but still BIG ! lol
    that is all Dahahaha !

Edit: I like the idea of HP linking !

SMN should have interesting and varying A.I. thus making party/group mechanics more enjoyable all around.

    For instance:

How cool would it be if a SMN's Primal was interactive for the rest of the battle participants?

Let me explain further: Primals/Avatars (whatever you want to call them) in previous FFs just kinda did their thing and bounced. Okay yes we saw some epic cutscenes and such, but why limit the primals themselves to such come n go simple-mindedness?

    Primals could offer:
    - Certain Weapon skills used by other party members could prompt the primal to follow up with it's own elemental based weaponskill
    - Primals could grant party members resistances based on their innate element
    - Primals with a defensive nature could physically restrain mobs (a unique stun) for a short period with varying success allowing party members to get heals, buffs, whatever from other casters or just to lock the mob in place.

Just a few examples i thought of.
