Square Enix really should go back to the roots of how good game is made...

I made a new character just for fun few days ago just to experience the "beginning" of the game again.
It really was not that impressive...
Yes, it looked cool but it wasn't a beginnig of a storyline that would make me fall in love with my character because he was going to save the world!!

I think a simple storyline in the beginning with some simple fighting (without tutorial on your face the moment you start) would work a lot better than what is in place at the moment. Nothing is more frustrating that get stuck in an instance with NPCs that you have to find and talk to when you just want to go and hit something with your sword or w/e.

By the time you actually figure out how to get out of a town (with a weapon if you were silly enough to start as a fisher) and find a marmot to kill, you have this feeling of "omg I can't be asked with this".

Yes we need epic storyline, but I think first we need to get that "I WANT TO DO SOMETHING" out of our system and then we can sit down and figure out how to save the world.
OR at least give us a epic world map that we can open even in the town and go "woah, the world is huge. I need to get through this instance as soon as possible so I can go explore the world!"
