personal housing debacle

I am not happy with the way personal housing is. My FC has a large house plot 13 in the goblet. We have our own rooms . Why on earth would you make private housing in the same zone as FC housing. SE indirectly will make it so there is no real reason to have a FC . You can do every single aspect of this game as a solo player . Now you can have all the perks of a FC house also. SMH

This is only true NOW because the FC house perks are roughly the same as personal house perks. Remember that with a later expansion, FC houses will be utilized for mass construction projects such as airships, something that personal houses will lack. The functionality divide will increase over time.

Where did you read this? There are zero differences in housing functionality. The only thing that has changed is that you don't need a FC to buy a house. Can gardens be placed in the yards of personal houses? We were told they might be able to garden in pots later on.

You can already see that 'personal' homes are slightly different than 'FC' homes as they do NOT have the 'additional personal rooms' door in them. So that is already a small distinction between the two. As far as I can tell beyond that, they are the same for the moment.


And no, I'm not thrilled about this decision that personal houses are competing for FC housing spaces....and I didn't even plan to purchase.

I understood that, my point is this already shows that they will in fact have some differences in function (Like I doubt you can build an airship in the basement of a personal house).

The distinction of an FC house is the fact that it's for your FC. It's a place for company-wide get-togethers. That's the only sort of distinction it should ever have. Things like gardening, crafting, and raising chocobos are supposed to be for everyone. None of those types of perks have anything to do with FCs, so there's no reason for them to be FC specific.

The real problem with putting personal housing in with FC housing is that it used up the FC housing. FCs that don't have a house yet (like mine which is still working on getting up to rank 6) will likely never be able to get a house, because there's unlikely to ever be plots available once we're entitled to buy and can afford to buy an FC house.

You can have them, I walked into someone's personal home they bought today and they had 2 NPC's in them, but no room off to the side. So as of now, the ONLY difference between FC and personal housing options I can see is the 'rooms'. Although as I said above, that leads me to believe that down the road, there will be other differences.
