You know, I'd be fine with Houses being something for the rich (because I am), if there was an alternative. Why didn't they just stick Private Rooms on Inns? Why'd they have to go and tie it to Free Companies, where some people aren't going to get it? If literally everyone had access to Private Rooms via Inns, then that's at least something everyone can have, something everyone can enjoy decorating.
They already apparently have plans for Chocobo Raising to be done at NPC Stables, they could easily work on an indoor Gardening system. The excess cost of Personal Housing would literally just be for the exterior and neighborhood vibe, and that would be fine. If they want to do damage control on this, they can slap out 2.385 and give everyone a damned Private Room for a pittance. At leas then some of us (and by some I mean all) can actually get to enjoy furnishing something.
Been looking forward to having a House/Room to play around with since it was announced before launched. Was disappointed when my Free Company sucked so hard we couldn't get a House after 2.1 (seriously, you guys suck). Was disappointed when they made Private Rooms a Free Company House thing for seemingly no reason. Am disappointed now. Honestly, I'm about ready to go back to XI solely for the ability to have a room I can furnish; this game is a year old and it's still lagging behind a PS2 era game in this regard. It's pathetic. Private Inn Rooms wouldn't solve everything, but it could at least act as some reasonable damage control.
I think we could all do with a genuine laugh today. I just got mine;
I would, but it sucks... Other than the fact that everyone actually gets to furnish something, of course.
Really, Private Rooms should have been tied to Inns instead of Free Company Estates from the get go. How they managed to screw up something so simple I'll never know.
