Most people with millions of gil have an alt anyway. Buy 2 personal rooms and call it a house.

At any given time you see 10 maybe 20 people in the housing zones AT ALL. Who are you showing off to?

Personal housing added gardening, which is the only way to obtain several important items for chocobo coloring, and breaking the rank 10 cap. Chocobo stables at housing are used for training your chocobo, and coloring your chocobo. Future content will add a basement to housing where you will build a personal FC airship. It added a ton of new crafting recipes for furnishings. Maybe you should level more than one job to 50, or crafting/gathering class at ALL before complaining about content you don't get the point of. You have barely scratched the surface of the game.

I've made cumulatively 4-5 million gil my entire play time and have spent it all away. Especially on those damned Ehcatl Nine quests.

Hey man when you have a 4X craft and you get to rank 7 quests they're literally impossible unless you buy a shitton of HQ gear.

Plus the Turn-Ins drain cash unless you can craft the items as well.

I started doing the Ixali quests with only WVR to 50.
(and believe me, they are hard even with full AF HQ gear xD)
you have carpenter to 42, it's kind of the same. you can turn in 3 crafted items with your carpenter, with 0 guil spent.
or, you can actually skip the turn in quest, and just do the others... you rank up a little slower, but you rank up anyway xD
