Thread: Controller movement is ruined after 2.38

Happening to me as well, it's really annoying. I just came back to the game after about 6 months of a break and my character is now spastic, figures. lol

Oh so it's not just me. Thought for a moment something was wrong with my controller.

Basically this happens on two of my characters (each focusing on Melee and Range respectively) Occasionally the character would either walk or run into a specific direction either momentarily or until I touch the stick (Yesterday it was to the right, now back/towards the camera).

I'm gonna bump this because now I'm having even more controller issues.
This wasn't a problem until 2.45, and is something exclusive to XIV, so it's not my controller.
Right now whenever I try to run forwards, I'll spaz out and start walking instead, and the problem will persist for a couple of seconds before going back to normal.
This is pretty much entirely random, and there doesn't seem to be any specific thing causing it.

Since this morning ( 2.51 ) : my gamepad ( xbox360) can't stop passing from port 1 to number 2 ( on the litle green X on the pad) , and my char sometimes move on it's own... taking long second before i can control it again.

I checked my gamepad on other game , and it is fini on those one , only FFXIV control seems bugged atm.

In the last 2 days, playing on PS4 when holding the R2 button during combat my character moves slightly to left without any input from the left stick. If I hold down the R2 again, the character will walk to the left. It's annoying and hope this problem is solved soon.

My friend and I play on PS4. Both use the PS4 controller. Ever since we came back and started playing awhile after 2.5 was released (we left shortly after 2.4 was released) we have noticed a serious glitch in our characters' movements. Namely, whenever we try and run forward. Or using the "up" motion on our joystick. Every other direction works fine. Moving up is the only issue. When we try to move in that direction, our characters will either walk, not move at all, or alternate between the two. In the rare instances that moving up allows us to run, we hit the auto run button asap, but this is still incredibly annoying. Please fix this.

I have noticed this momentary glitch also on my PS4. It is annoying.
