"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."
You did soulglaze the novus weapons you want to upgrade?Does the message only popup when you beat it, and not display in the the chat log?
I've beaten garuda and levi hard and seen no messeges, garuda had my sword and shield equipped, levi had just my sword equipped. Also the zodiak glass says i don't have a soulglazed weapon equipped, is this right?
After the quest you need to talk with the guy again and select the option to soulglaze the weapons. You have to do it for your sword and shield individually.
So I got the blinding light proc but when I use the Zodiac glass it says "no activity". Is that because I have only got the proc once? o.o; Still slightly confused.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but after two runs of ST, (one in progress and one from the beginning), I am getting "...emits a blinding light!" and nothing about a Newborn Star. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?
EDIT: To complicate matters even further, some people in my part did get Newborn Star, while others, like me, got Blinding light.
EDIT 2: Just completed ST for the third time, full run, got "Blinding Light" again.
EDIT 3: Completed ST for the fourth time today, this time in progress starting at Amon. Blinding Light again.

I think it's duration based- the longer it takes for ST the brighter notification you get, may be wrong though
Just finished ST and got "Blinding Light" myself, it must be based on amount of time spent inside the instance because my group blew through it as fast as I ever have.Syrcus Tower makes Novus "shine with the light of a Newborn Star".
So seems Syrcus grind is the best immediate option.
So far i have seen:
Feeble<Gentle<Brilliant<Blinding<Newborn Star.
Feeble from Fates, and some Trials.
Gentle from some Trials.
Brilliant from Expert Roulette.
Blinding confirmed in T6 & T7.
Newborn Star in ST.
Maybe it's based on length of time in a party... someone would need to test of HUNTs actually provide anything, or if Failing in a primal that would normally take 9 minutes to clear rewards anything more for taking 60 minutes through fails. Or if maybe they decided that a set amount of time = each dungeon, and clearing them faster/slower would simply mean more gains/min.
I got the most from doing Main Scenario... but haven't seen New Star brightness yet.
I did a Trial Roulette (Leviathan) with a new person, and also got 'Gentle'.
