Does FFXIV have a chronological lore read up?

Hi,

I am not a complete FF noob nor am I a FFXIV lore expert. However, I would love to know the lore of this particular game. It's confusing how they say every FF series has a stand alone lore but they use every single element of previous series.

Does FFXIV have a lore I can read from A-Z or are we left with watching cut scenes in game and gather information by lore experts all over the Internet?

I would be more than happy to know where to find these. Also, wouldn't a lore book (or series of books) sell rediculously well if there was one?

As for a chronological write-up, it's something I've had in the works since 1.0 went down, but exists primarily in organized transcripts in my own files at the moment. Gahoo over at Gamer Escape offered me a namespace within his Wiki so that I might explore possible ways to present and develop them, and we've been through a hefty handful of ideas. Recently, however, we finally settled on splitting each story-arc into it's own Rise and Fall of the White Raven styled summary links back to the full, annotated transcripts if anyone was still curious. The final version of the first prototype is underway right now, but even that auspicious star isn't enough to claim that anything major is going to be done any time soon. The project is absolutely massive and I've been working on it alone, lol.

That said, making all these transcripts has enabled me to answer most direct questions with relative ease, if there's something you wish to know.
