They're gonna do it in a month anyways when 2.4 comes out, similar to what they did with first coil after 2nd coil came out, whether you asked for it or not. Some people in here are impatient. That, or lack common sense.

people who want sell them already do it, difference is as people can't find help of experimented friends to help them, they buy this run, unlock the coils will allow people tempted by buying runs to have an other option. People who can pass some of turns (some of them or all turns) want help their friends, they just can't do it cause of the game design. The more i think about it the more it seems to me that SE don't devellop an MMORPG, it's a RPG which happens to be multiplayer... and the social aspect is not a priority...
False, my allagan stuffs never gave me any sort of respect from other who don't do coil in the game yet, like never ever, told be truth I even got once someone who said to me that I should be ashamed for having spell speed on my high allagan grimoire of casting and still using it (was a stone vigil HM roulette).Having the lockout in place allows raiders to have exclusive, rare equipment. It's just like in the old days; when someone walked into your party decked out in Allagan gear you knew this was someone to respect and pay attention to. High Allagan gear fills that same niche now; I just got my first piece earlier this week and I couldn't be happier. Removing lockouts early would make it far easier to get pieces and cheapen that wonderful feeling.
Almost whole community that mainly does hunts/CT/casual dungeons and stuffs like that don't give a single sh*t about people wearing HA, for a main (and legitimate) reason that they know it will be outdated and useless when the next patch that raise I-level come up.
Here goes your false dreams about stuffs, it will only make yourself happy, don't expect the same hype from other like seeing someone wearing some Byakko's Haidate back in the old days.
That's why coil shouldn't have weekly limit, restricting the entry per week will not prevent raiders to unsubs after their re done with stuffs, it's the huge boredom following in the other 6 days after your cleared coil that will make you unsub.
That's 1 out of....how many? Truth is, it does give a rather nice feed to one's ego, and people do stop and awe everyone once in a while. Plus, that guy who told you to be ashamed of using that book should be ashamed for not knowing that its still BiS because its a ilv 115 weapon, even without the DET.False, my allagan stuffs never gave me any sort of respect from other who don't do coil in the game yet, like never ever, told be truth I even got once someone who said to me that I should be ashamed for having spell speed on my high allagan grimoire of casting and still using it (was a stone vigil HM roulette).
1 out of thousands of the same kind over the past year, I envy you man if the random pugs re nicer people on NA servers. That's not the case on EU cluster, sadly.
I had one "ohnice stuffs flare" like 2 or 3 months ago from a random guy in a brayflox hm, I was really surprised and thankful for his/her feedback, was cute.
ikr, sadly you can't fight against knowledgeless people, dead end fight.
Back on the topic : my point here is that ffxiv huge and quick vertical progression shouldn't have weekly limitation entry on the only raid content of the game, it's a nonsense that prevent people to have fun and also cancel the usefulness of having more than 8 people in your free company, bad gaming design is bad.
note, I'm going to poison the well : In before "mercenary and selling" replies, put your weapons and pitchforks down, like Kardayel saidthis is kind of stuff that is belong to players, that ever existed in any mmo and not linked to the current bad design of the ffxiv end game scene.people who want sell them already do it
I really hate the content lockout, it really separates the community. I can't find a static for the life of me and I really don't care for PUGs so I have to wait till the content is obsolete to actually experience it.
Also since the new content is gated by the old content it means I have a even slower start to join new statics or joining as a replacement.
And i want to be able to play CURRENT content with my friends and fc members without having to exclude people because they are the 9th and sorry buddy no cant do. In one month i will want to play third coil with my friend. How is that hard to understand ? Who lacks common sense now ?
Edit: i don't even care about loot. Easy solution: at release make it so everyone can get 1 loot piece per week from whole 4 turns. 2 months after, soften it to 1 piece for turn 1/2 and 1 piece for turn 3/4. 2 month after soften it to 1 piece per turn per week. Voila. Problem solved. You can now remove shitty entrance lockout and let me play the game with my friends without worrying about lockout.
As for the selling business: will always happen, lockout or not. Point is currently due to lockout the prices are insane because there is a lack of offer, so you have 50M prices for t6-t9 runs. Just favors RMT to have prices like that if you ask me.

For me it's the fact they have only one setting for the difficulty for Coil that makes it insanely grindy, especially for people who just want to see what is going on with the story behind the place. No one except statics get to personally see the cutscenes outside of youtube unless they've had the gracious amount of time to put up with party finding and travel the wave through the week. Having hardmode content to please the people that want the challenge is fine, but it needs to be implemented in a way that doesn't get in the way of people who want to see the story and general fights in the "tower". It's why RF was introduced in WoW, with only a Week delay between when the Normal mode was released and the RF version. Compared to how FFXIV is doing it with waiting until next patch...
Well, apart from prescedent. And allowing people to skip to t9 without succeeding at 6-8.
Personally the ONLY way I would be happy on the day that coil lockouts are removed, is if the lesser tiers still MUST be cleared once on that character, before the latter ones can be unlocked.
They didn't for first coil. I wish they had. Far too many scrubs I've met who skip T4, have never done it, and never will. Perish the thought that now they can't do T7 lol.
I'd agree with this, if the previous turns actually did anything to prepare you for the next, but they don't. T7 isn't going to prepare you for T9. The only way you're going to learn T9, is to do T9.Well, apart from prescedent. And allowing people to skip to t9 without succeeding at 6-8.

I see many people skipping T7 when it gets unlocked, just because of how intricate the fight is. I think T6 and T8 will be the biggest farm encounters when 2.4 hits. T9 will be the same hurdle, for most people, that T5 was and still is today. With Echo, though, T9 should be quite a lot easier than T5 in comparison. I'm looking forward to being able to MT T9 with my WAR due to echo, instead of having to swap to PLD for T9.
