No, it's fair. I think they still want to do it this way - but the technical difficulties have made them delay personal housing for so long that this is their temporary answer, because they've been promising to do something since day one and housing in general is like eight months old already. That's what I'd like to hope, at least.

I like the idea of having everyone start out with the same plot size of land, but with housing being upgradeable. Definitely sounds much more fun and it could be a good time sink (which is a win for SE). I'm not familiar with Animal Crossing's housing, but if its anything like Harvest Moon, I loved it. You could purchase cute vanity additions/addons and extensions onto your house. I could spend hours and hours on stuff like that.

Similar to Harvest Moon! (I love both series~) You could purchase add ons to your house, basement, upstairs, side rooms, and it doesn't really get a WHOLE lot bigger on the outside.

I'll just be holding onto my money and hope they try a different route in the future.
Hopefully they can upgrade their server loads to host more houses... One day! Dream big guys

As stated in the patch notes for Patch 2.38, the plots of land available for purchase in the housing areas will be the same for both Free Company and individual buyers. The introduction of housing plots in the future will also follow this structure.

Honestly I agree and like the idea of upgradable land/housing as per Animal Crossing. It allows everyone to start out at the same point and expand however their finances, interests, and game updates allow. I'm not as sure about the layout you propose, but I understand the premise behind it.

It's disappointing that SE chose to go for a system that doesn't allot FCs (and now individuals) an equal amount of server resources.

Right now I don't doubt it's easier to support this method - the prices are prohibitive enough that only so many players can get in, so the idea is to meet at least that segment of the demand.

Doesn't mean they might not look into other things in the future (They may segment off certain wards in the future to be player housing only and cut down cost, for instance, in the short term), but only time will tell. I highly doubt "this is it, this is the last housing feature ever"

Personally, I wish they would of at least postponed personal housing. At the moment, it....just seems more like an adjustment to FC houses rather than new content. I think I have just enough for a small house :P, but I think I'll hold off until 2.4 and hope for the best haha.

Yeah, I'd rather hold off as well! Are you hoping for a new housing district or fine with the current ones? And yeah, I agree, it's like an adjustment.. Honestly, they shoulda just gave more wards to FC housing and held off on P. Housing e.e After all.. we already have personal rooms..

I was hoping for either a separate personal housing ward per area, or a single instanced area set in the style of the three housing areas with just a short road with zone borders on each side with a market board and retainer bell. You would walk into the instanced road way into your single house and the inside and outside would be in the same instance, so your door would actually open to the inside.

This way, they would only need a single instance to hold both interior and exterior, so the need to load/unload the inside/outside if you walk in and out of your house wouldn't be a problem, only when you enter or leave your housing instance would it need to be loaded or unloaded.

I want a new housing district! Like the one you drew with a town center in the middle lol. And in the town center, maybe there could be a few vendors with an area big enough for holiday events and/or festivals grounds. Ehh maybe that's too much but I can dream! :O

There we go. Simple. 2~4M a house. Same sizish, customize a little, small yard. Done.

But no, we can go with reusing the same shit and not creating anything new at all and only using it as a major gilsink. Sure, SE. Whatever you want. I'll keep logging on and paying you because I hate myself that much.

Shit, I would have taken the inn to be "upgradable" and able to have a stable/garden because it's localized different on the server much like FFXI's rooms were. Fine by me, I don't care. I just wanted a few things: Affordable, garden, and really everything after that was extra.

@LilyStorm, yeah! Something like that even would be frickin' nice! But apparently servers and stuff can't handle it... I dunno, if each PLOT itself was instanced I don't think it would be too bad, but again I'm no techie.
