No changes for atma/animus?

I could have sworn in some interview Yoshi stated there would be less requirements for atma/animus when the next relic stage was introduced. The new relic seems cool, but by now I would have figured it would be easier to obtain an atma. Sigh, back to grinding~

I don't remember that. I do remember SE firmly stating that they had no plans to adjust Atma in any way. It was a Rep response in one of the many Atma threads drifting around here. If Yoshi-P said something otherwise in an interview I missed it.

What they said was that eventually things will get easier to obtain as gear progresses, because if not it will take new players forever to catch up, which is natural.
There was never anything more specific than that.

The myth isn't the problem, it's having to actually do the books like waiting 2-6 hours for a fate that you will probably miss and killing a bazillion monsters.

They said they'd ease up on atma drop rates in the future when they feel like it's the right time. Doing it too soon would "invalidate" all the hard work the people did it from the start. They might do it on 2.4 but who knows at this point. Myth is so much easier to obtain now as it is, so essentially Animus and Novus is a lot easier to obtain now than they we're before 2.3, so much so that a person even has all 9 animus weapons - > http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/commen...ns_complete_d/ (NOT ME)

Who knows when they'll do it, but they definitely will.

Sounds good to me. I can wait for however long it takes. Really no point grinding fates till your eyeballs bleed knowing that someday they'll make it all easier. Unless you just like need to have it now.

Atma remains the worst part of the relic enhancement so far. Attempted to get back into the grind recently and quit before I had a single atma after completing a substantial amount of fates. I've now saved up a second set of 75 alexandrite pieces but I don't have a weapon to use them on because all my other relic weapons are stuck on the zenith stage due to atma tedium. I'm sure atma drop rate will be adjusted eventually, but we can't do much right now than wait.

The book FATE's also got adjusted so some don't take 5 hours to spawn. But yeah, the Myth difference is massive compared to when Animus got released.

You can get an alternative weapon while you wait. Some of them are actually pretty good. That's what I did with my summoner weapon, anyway.

You might think the Atma grind is horrible, but so is plugging in dozens of materia into a scroll. Pay for it with your wallet, or pay for it with your time, either way it ends up being a worse grind than the Atma are.

I'm saying this as someone who has completed the Atma stage 2 and 7/12 times (lol) as well as a completed novus, and an animus that is halfway through the alexandrite/materia scroll stage.

The whole process is a grind, I really don't understand the whining over JUST the Atma part.

I think it's because most people are stuck on the ATMA phase, they (myself included) haven't even experienced the later grind stages to start complaining, lol.
