    SE Encourages RMT with Housing

When Free Company Housing first came out the prices where so out ridiculous. It was said that a Free Company of 10 people could easily afford the a large house at the prices, but our FC after a few months could barley medium one before there was no more lots to purchase.

Now we have the Personal Housing which are the same housing as the Free Company and so are the prices. I have never been good at making money in MMO's and FFXIV:ARR is no exception, I make enough money to keep me afloat with teleports and some crafting MATs that I need. So someone like me who has the average of 100k gil, then how am I or people in the same boat suppose to afford personal housing?

The only way for people who can't afford personal housing to get the money to beat the rush to buy housing before the 2 new wards (6 total) sell out means that people will have to turn to Real Money Traders (RMTs).

SE continues to come out with new content the only the people who can make money or those who turn to RMTs can stay on top of. With this on top of the fact that SE has done little to combat RMTs, only tells me that SE is Encourages RMTs. For a company that does not condone RMTs; they sure have a funny way of showing it.

You can make the gil legitly. There are alot of ways of making money. The problem is this isn't what was promised and many people didn't anticipate buying a sevond FC house just for themselves. I doubt anyone would use bought gil on a personal house. If they did they'd be pretty stupid. Buying gil in itself is pretty stupid.

SE made spiritbonding a bit more beneficial, if you're lucky. More gil should be floating through the economy. Hopefully legit gil, that is.

Even if you earn money legit, you cannot earn faster a RMT player.

Who really cares at this point? Just give everything to every player so no one is left out.

How can you possibly spend so much gil that you only have 100k? I'm really wondering where you spend it, because unless I just buy a bunch of crafting mats I only gain gil through playing normally.

As someone who is eternally broke I can say I spend my gil on teleports (I teleport everywhere), mats, repairs (though I've got WVR and GSM now so I guess buying more dark matter will replace some repairs), vanity items, gonna throw 120k at the Ixali for a new mount tomorrow then since I won't be buying a house right away I'll probably use a lot of what I saved to gear my GSM. If I really wanted to I could blow all the rest of it to meld one of my gathering classes..

I'm not saying it's not easy to make gil if you try (I was able to make over a million gil in the past couple days but I really had to work.. That's just not my play style and I'm not complaining.) I am saying it's very easy for some to spend it faster than we make it during normal play. Guess not everyone is blessed with good sense when it comes to money.

I agree buying gil is stupid; I did it once in EVE Online and although it made the game easier, it did make me feel like anything I did was unaccomplished, hints why I have never played EVE again. I do not want to make FFXIV:ARR feel that way, I want to feel pride that I got done what I got done myself.

I spend money on Teleports & Crafting Mats most of all; but at the same time, I hardly do anything to make money. I make enough in a week to cover what I spent in a week plus gain 1k or 2.
