    In Defense of Housing Situation

I believe the lack of information in the weeks leading up to the patch was a result of them making adjustments right down to the last minute, seeing how much they could wring out of limited resources. It wasn't an attempt to mislead players, they simply could not give an advance or definitive warning because they did not know themselves.

2 additional wards is the best they could come up with in time for patch 2.38 within the confines of the current housing system and server resources available, and scarcity keeps prices high. They have stated that they will double up on wards, as soon as patch 2.4, and it can be assumed that prices will continue to decrease in correlation with more plots becoming available.

Today's patch is not the end of the story. Many people were looking forward to moving into a new house today, but things will improve over time with a great increase in the amount of land. Keep holding out.

The problem is that even if they double the amount of wards, it will still be nowhere enough to accommodate the number of players per server.

A server has an average of 30k players with some having significantly more. People will be able to save up enough gil to buy a plot eventually but availability will then be the issue.

Has nothing to do about wards, it has to do with the fact that they didn't create anything new for personal housing, they just let people buy FC housing without being a FC...

And the fact that we as a community were lied to. Not false information, straight up lied to for months on end, then when we ask questions, information was with held.

I believe that there is like 15k characters on the smallest servers, and the largest ones have around 150k characters. Right now there are 720 houses per server, this includes those owned by the FC's and all the large/medium houses. So yea, even on the smallest servers less than .5% (not 5%, half of 1%) of the players will be able to get houses on each server.

What they should do is add some apartment complex to each ward where people can buy condos, with a terrace for gardening or something.

Tanking is a job, DPSing is a science and Healing is an art.
If the Tank dies, it's the Healer's fault. If the Healer dies, it's the Tank's fault. If the DPS dies, it's their own damn fault.

Yeah, pretty much. I was always under the impression that individual housing would use the same ward zones, but I was also under the impression that individual housing would have separate wards that just used the same zone art, and there would be more of them than FC wards (because FC was supposed to be a small-scale "test" for personal housing). Throwing them together like this is just insane.

    This^^

This patch essentially serves as a Beta for Personal Housing.

    they only made 3 adjustments.

no rooms (which is a return to before rooms existed, can't be hard to do)
any one can buy it not just FC Leaders with Rank 6+ FCs (which can't be more than a flag)
2 new Wards (which are copy paste of all other wards and 100% server issues)

which one of those was done at the last minute?

This is how I thought they were going to achieve the feat of allowing all a chance at personal housing. Something like a large apartment complex where people could still see each other walking around with only doors to enter instanced rooms instead of an entire land plot and house. All they would have to do is add an atrium or something within the house for outdoor related furnishings. There were many ways to go about it, but they didn't even try to think of possibilities and just reused their current system to save resources/time. It's obvious they were never really working on personal housing.
