It's still kinda garbage since FC housing and individual housing are still the same, but at least it's something.

The sticky honestly left me a bit...irritated. It smacked of a prefabricated response to what they knew was a poor way to introduce personal housing. Also, the solutions presented do not make sense. Doubling up next patch will not be enough to satisfy most servers. Even triple the number of wards is not enough if personal and FC housing are expected to share. I would have preferred they listened and offered useful alternatives.

Hmm def not what we were expecting but so long as they expand wards in the future what's it matter if they are mixed with fc's.?

Yeah fc's are gonna have a hard time getting housing but seriously getting a small or medium house is so easy. and don't try to tell me it isn't as I solo saved and bought a large house for my fc in 6 weeks. so any group of people could do it quickly if they really wanted it.

I wasn't expecting this til 2.4 so it's kinda a surprise so I'm not sure what I may do in regards to buying a personal house right now as I'm sure all the cheaper ones will be bought up over night. and I'm not sure I want to buy any old house just because it available, plus I may go for a personal large house and wait that price drop over the next month. but then other than the status symbol and extra gardens I don't see much point to having a personal house over an fc house unless you plan to leave your fc at some point.

guess I'll make a decision when I log on in the morning.

They should of just added it in the way they intended with same size housing for personal housing, maybe mix it in the existing ward structure so every other ward is personal or something.

I thought that is what they would do. I thought that personal housing would be completely separate from Free Company housing in that personal houses would not share the same instance, and all personal housing would be the same size. However, I thought pricing would vary based on location, just like Free Company housing. I pictured a real life suburbs.

I can afford a medium house, but I am not going to buy one with these prices. I think I will sit on my money, increase it, and buy a large after the prices have dropped or wait and hope the will set up a different sort of system.

I will admit that I am disappointed by this system, but I am not angry with it. I have been really excited for personal housing and I still enjoy this game so I will just sit and wait to see if they make any changes.

As stated in the patch notes for Patch 2.38, the plots of land available for purchase in the housing areas will be the same for both Free Company and individual buyers. The introduction of housing plots in the future will also follow this structure.

Yeah, this right here bugs me. It's been quoted several times that they intended the two systems to be separate. This would have allowed for both Personal and Free Company housing markets to differ both in price and demand. Hell, they could have come up with more compact Housing Wards for Personal housing.

Instead, they immediately ruin the one big fix they could have made. Not only could Patch 2.4 have solved the issue by releasing separate wards, but they'd have had plenty of time to implement new wards with hell, double the amount of potential houses within the wards (Which they seem to be doing now). Problem is, they literally just told us. "Hey, we know you're pissed off that we lied to you about them being separated. But... it's okay, because this is how things are going to stay!"

Yeah, I can save up for a Medium sized house eventually. But, by that time richer players and Free Companies will have them. I could save up for a small house but... same thing.

I can sort of understand how they could feel backed into a corner, but making it worse by combining the systems and the prices for both really hurt things more than just saying they need more time, or hell, warning us that it was going to end up this way. I dunno, maybe a week's notice would've been nice. Something to say "Hey, don't stock up on housing supplies, don't get your hopes up the night of the patch. It isn't happening".

At the very least they could have told us the damn price so we could have farmed the appropriate amount of gil and stood a chance at buying one in the rush.

There's a ton positive about it. There's massive groups of people that work together to get an FC house. Please tell me how big you expect a house to be if you take 4m and crop it down to 800k. Do YOU want a personal house that has a inside the size of a closet, and a lot only big enough for a delux garden? If we're going to talk about money and value to things. That's what you should expect if they add a ward for individuals and base it off current values of current sizes.

Think about it logically for a moment. If you lived in the game and it cost 4m to make that small house on that plot, you can't build the exact same thing on another plot for 800k.

In all honesty? I'd be happy with just the deluxe garden and NO house for myself, I like my FC house and my room there. I do want a garden for myself though so I can just open the garden patches on the FC lot for everybody.
My suggestion would be to make gardens an instance that you can zone to through a little door in your private chambers.
Maybe make it small/medium/large gardens that you can purchase once you own a private chamber.

I'm fairly sure it was said that 850k was not going to be enough to buy a house. It was never said it would be around that price, just that that price was not enough. If you double it, then it falls in line with the 50% devaluation amount, which is completely reasonable to assume would be the minimum amount of Gil a player would need to purchase the smallest house. And, interestingly enough, that's the case (for the smallest population servers, which again is reasonable to assume is the lowest amount required).

A lot of this could be avoided if they would just release the patch notes ahead of time.
