Personal Housing Complaint Thread

After poor implementations, miscalculations and/or overcomplicating features (hunts, glamours, sightseeing log, choco-dyeing, take your pick) I'm afraid to look forward to anything else after this. Who knows how golden saucer, choco-racing, choco-breeding, airships will be handled. It's not looking very bright.

My thoughts exactly. Why is there always something implemented horribly in almost every patch? It makes it extremely difficult to be excited about any new features. The SE team here has a great game on their hands. They just need to plan things out better. They mess up something almost every patch for the last year...you would think they would catch on. I am in a small FC with a personal room, and I get to use the garden as much as I want, so I am not really affected by this. But this is just so bad... Locking out nearly everyone from a feature that many have been looking forward to for months... Although, I don't think this is even what anyone was looking forward to really.

I figured I wouldn't be the only one. Well I have an idea SE, how about you bring Mog Houses back? If I cant have a personal house, with a garden and a choco stable, then why cant I have a Mog House with flowerpots and be able to train my choco outside in the world instead of this stupid stable idea. I mean, you have screwed over just about EVERYONE except the RMT and those with millions of gil. Im not saying that money is hard to earn on here, but I have been saving up patiently hoping against hope that a personal house wouldn't be over 2 mil. Well, great job guys! I am not quitting, nor will I rage and stomp. I will simply wait until 2.4 and see if you understand the error of your ways and FIX THIS, otherwise, you are going to lose some subs. This was poorly done SE, poorly done...

SE has really failed this big time.

As if the 1st few housing failures are not enough.
Why even bother? It was basically who can log in faster and run to the plots.

Why did i even save up my gil?
Why did i even put my hopes up after so many failures?
Why did i even bother to standby at the moment server came up?

I log in click residential and lo and behold .... All slot gone except those unaffordable mad prices.
For every single area...

Disappointment doesn't even cut it. Im plain angry. Its feels like i worked hard for no reason.

So...should i even hold my hopes up for 2.4. (More plots? That what they say, but truth is, im sure it ll be a let down)

I worked so hard to save up but it ... All those months were for nothing!
I'm so angry, sad and disappointed it's insane. Out of all the content that is coming this was the ONE thing I waited for since 1.0!
How are we supposed to believe that choco racing won't be another sham like choco raising after this?

The over reaction is on fire in here. SE did a horrendous job explaining their choices and should of gave people a heads up. The bottom line is this. They saw that there was no way to get enough personal housing areas for 2.38 hell from the sound of it, it might not be for 2.4 either. So instead of giving folks nothing in housing and getting bashed. They decide to release a few new areas and also just open up all the current in game housing to individuals.

To combat everything getting bought in 15 min they left the pricing the same as fc housing to get some gil out of the game at the same time. They know who has the gil and who doesn't.

People need to take a step back and breathe.

Had they done it like Mog Houses in FFXI where it was a single home instance, then they could have allowed for every player to have their own house. They just needed to have permissions set and a way for people to ask for permission to enter your house. I guess they like the look of a community of houses where you can see your neighbor playing in their back yard. Its nice and all but really sucks for people like me who isnt concerned about being "First" for everything.

From reading the forums, the main problem most people have is the fact that personal housing is tied with FC housing at all. To us, they have appeared to be "working" on personal housing this whole time, when really all they did was flip a switch, so to speak, on FC housing to allow individuals to buy them. They should have made a new system. Customizable inn rooms would be better than this, because then everyone could use it. It just doesn't make sense for personal housing to be the same houses as FC housing.

I honestly don't care what the price is for personal housing, what made me very disheartened was seeing that its going to be limited plots on limited land in limited wards. Sure they can expand wards and add more but I had thought this was going to be something accessible to everyone once you met the requirements (Gil, GC rank, Level). I was really looking forward to eventually getting my own house at my own pace but now, unless I have the 70mil right when the wards are added, I doubt I will every be a land owner in this game. That is a crying shame...

I just dont understand why they did it like this. This is something that is purely aesthetic and superficial, only uses casual content and has no bearing on end game. Furnishing don't add anything to your gameplay (stat increases, bonuses and the like) unless they are having the FC rank up system which makes no sense for the personal housing. I'm sure this has all already been mentioned and put more eloquently than I have said it here, I just wanted to add my 2 gil to the mix.

My last hope for the game is that they can do the Golden saucer properly and how it all integrates into the rest of the game.

Since v1 they talk about personnal housing, they said they had a tons of ideas and were able to do a special add on for it if they really wanted to put everything. Several times, personnal housing was posponed for many reasons but they said there were working hard on it and will do their best for keeping their planning...

What have they done? Nothing cause all elements were already here for FC housing so why pospone personnal housing again and again for nothing? I don't understand.

Personnal housing could be great but they ruined this content aswell, it becomes borring.
