Consoles render client side stuff just fine, including furnishings and housing. They can render an inn room? They can easily render a mog house.

Agreed. We played FFXI with an inn room that was essentially our personal housing. We all got one, for free. We could decorate it, we could garden in it, we could craft in it. We could invite friends in. All on fairly crappy pc's (by today's standards) and the PS2.

I'm an extremely casual player, sort of a little anti-social at times so not great in the forced FC community, not so great at earning a ton of gil, but I get by. I was so looking forward to having my own house, so I could raise my chocobos and do a little gardening on the side on whichever alt I happen to log into.
The housing dream for me has died. I'm not going to bash SE, I'll continue to log in for the forseeable future, but I'll tell you what I just did...I registered for the EQNext beta.

SE has tricked me one too many times into sticking around just a littttttle bit longer for some new content only to have it blow up in my face. Why get a personal house when you can get a relatively cheap room in your FC house anyway? Why do they insist on doing terribly implemented good ideas? It's what ruined 1.0, get a clue Yoshi, geez.

The way they handled personal housing will effect everyone. The problem is, we may not see the effects of it initially which is extremely dangerous. This empowers RMT and the well-off people who have leveled alts, allowing them to completely circumvent the free company leveling system for more gardening space.

This does not empower the common player, and it certainly does not empower any new players either. It dissuades them. This will have a long-lasting effect on player attrition and it will continue to either allow prices to stay the same and/or drive them up further. This was nothing but a negative choice, period. Resource potential that could have been used to the benefit of everyone wasn't and was instead given to the very people that have more than enough. Nobody will be spared from this effect, remember that.

What is the point in getting a FC or even joining an FC now? Your FC house has private rooms (personal space) But now you can buy a FC house and call it your own with all the perks. I swear there catering to the casual players way WAY to much . SMH

As I didn't meet the specifics to buy a housing lot, the bae did it, and because it is under his name, he had to do everything for it, it won't allow him to then let me be share holder of this property, even though I basically paid for the whole thing, is there going to be a way around this? Because ideally we both want to use all the features from it.

After poor implementations, miscalculations and/or overcomplicating features (hunts, glamours, sightseeing log, choco-dyeing, take your pick) I'm afraid to look forward to anything else after this. Who knows how golden saucer, choco-racing, choco-breeding, airships will be handled. It's not looking very bright.

I figured I wouldn't be the only one. Well I have an idea SE, how about you bring Mog Houses back? If I cant have a personal house, with a garden and a choco stable, then why cant I have a Mog House with flowerpots and be able to train my choco outside in the world instead of this stupid stable idea. I mean, you have screwed over just about EVERYONE except the RMT and those with millions of gil. Im not saying that money is hard to earn on here, but I have been saving up patiently hoping against hope that a personal house wouldn't be over 2 mil. Well, great job guys! I am not quitting, nor will I rage and stomp. I will simply wait until 2.4 and see if you understand the error of your ways and FIX THIS, otherwise, you are going to lose some subs. This was poorly done SE, poorly done...

My thoughts exactly. Why is there always something implemented horribly in almost every patch? It makes it extremely difficult to be excited about any new features. The SE team here has a great game on their hands. They just need to plan things out better. They mess up something almost every patch for the last year...you would think they would catch on. I am in a small FC with a personal room, and I get to use the garden as much as I want, so I am not really affected by this. But this is just so bad... Locking out nearly everyone from a feature that many have been looking forward to for months... Although, I don't think this is even what anyone was looking forward to really.
