I wouldn't have guessed that the best thing from this patch would be the enjoyment I get from seeing people rage in the forums.

Gardening is not content. It's just a means of obtaining pointless mats only used for ... housing items. You can dye your chocobos at your FC. You RP? Great. You have a private room to decorate and play in.

And if you've been looking forward to housing for *so* long, you should have enough gil saved up to buy a house. I made 4 mil in the last couple of days. What have you been doing? If you're that dedicated to it, stay awake, log on when servers come up and buy your beloved home.

Lol well if you are enjoying it so much then why have u missed 3/4ths of the points people are trying to make and that it's not about the PRICE but the SCARCITY that people are upset about. If the price is higher than people wanted but the scarcity was not an issue people can just save up later. But since Scarcity is the primary issue, people can't just earn up the gil variance as opposed to expected values and then be able to get the house. And as I already said Scarcity is still going to be an issue in 2.4 and will continue to snowball as it takes them longer and longer to come up with the appropriate resources

And if Gardening isn't content and housing is so pointless then why is SE always using it as their sales pitch and why is SE spending so much money on infrastructure for the sole purpose of housing and yet they can't spend enough to match the demand? Currently SE primarily uses Primal fights as promotional material to try to attract new players to the game since those people have no idea how redundantly boring those fights really are, but for the people who picked ARR at launch and the first few months after, housing was one of THE hot tickets for promotional material.

I don't care much about how to obtain or how expensive the houses are but my problem is houses are so useless in this game.

you can't logout on your bed, you can't re-watch cutscenes, you can't summon the barber guy, and it doesn't mean anything to stay in your house (my biggest problem with it).

staying in our house should give us some buff like exp plus, item drop rate plus, crafting buff, etc. give us some reason to go back to our room after we spent millions of gil for it.

You mean like how the original sales pitches for housing boasted you could do things like build windmills for xp buffs? Lol that's like 5 layers of lies about Housing ago...

I understand the fundamental dynamics of the game revolves around 6 month cycles, but do the Dev's really need to repeat their mistakes in 6 months cycles as well? This just reeks of the exact same poor decisions by the Devs and backlash from the players dealing with the initiation of FC housing (although the backlash isnt AS loud because many people just gave up since then). Which gives it the appearance of the Dev's 'listened' in hindsight to the issues as they played out, but as far as future development refused to make the adjustments learned from prior feedback.

wish they would drop the price for FC rooms from 300k to like 50k i cant even make gil in this game cuz retards always undercut prices on the market for items i put up & your bitching about prices on player houses... if a casual player can barely make gil in this game cuz retards undercutting on the market you can thank the RMT retards for the overpriced shit in this game cuz from what ive seen SE makes prices that high cuz they want you to buy from RMT sites that SE runs in the shadows

I was just reading through the prices for the private housing floors and to be honest I will admit I was kind of floored by the figures listed for plots of land (70 million for a large "1st class plot" on medium servers)

That being said, rather than looking at it negatively, I'm preferring to think of it as an eventual goal. I recently started playing again after an extended absence, I didn't really expect them to be overly cheap since there would not be anywhere near enough space without housing being instanced, seeing the listed figures caught me off-guard, but I know that they must be within the realms of possibility for one to be able to do within a moderately respectable time frame.

Well if you were on a leave of absence the problem isn't directly the price it is this:

combined with the fact that personal housing is being thrown together with the scarcity issues that are already plaguing FC's trying to get plots of land for Housing.

And the prices aren't technically very feasible they are just the exact same as the FC Housing prices after they had to drop those severely because of heavy disapproval by the community. Just like when FC housing 1st came out, noone in their right mind would dump that kind of gil on housing if they truly earned that much gil they wouldnt just throw that much away on a house. Small houses sure but even the small house price is in violation of what Yoshi-P told the community would happen, and there are dozens of FCs that are desperately desiring those Small Plots on alot of servers today but there aren't enough available.

Just the same as how when FC housing first came out Small Houses were insane for small FCs but not large FCs... The Devs are foolishly repeating their mistakes... It's pretty simple if you ALREADY KNOW your customers are NOT going to be pleased in comparison to the promises you have given them, INSTEAD of sealing the information until the last second; just realize it is a BAD idea and ABORT the process.
