IF one were to foolishly separate the personal housing lies and disappointments like it is the only thing ever deliberately handled wrong in this game, then yes it would be foolish to see this killing the game, however everyone who has played this game knows better.
To some people Yoshi-P's boldface lie to the players about personal housing will be the "straw that breaks the back", for some players the implementation of Hunts was the straw, for some players atmas were the straw, for some players the lack of challenge in "challenging" content was the straw, for some players the broken arena PvP was the straw, for some players initial FC housing implementation was the straw, for some players SE not keeping old legacy account information secure and having their accounts disabled for 2 weeks because it was stolen was the straw, for some players the lack of QA testing the core NA datacenter was the straw, for some players even 3102 was the straw....
The reality is every time a consumer feels disenfranchised by a company/product it lingers. Every single time the servers have gone live with ARR since Closed Beta had ended, this game has always had some aspect that was no where near "as advertised". When a producer or company pulls the wool over your eyes once it's "shame on them", when they do it again it is "shame on YOU" and it is completely illogical to continue to support their service EVENTUALLY regardless of what literal breaking point is which for different consumers because there is way too much competition in the gaming market to "stick it out" with a team or company who deliberately proves time and again not to trust anything that comes out of their mouth.
Point is every patch is more a motivation for people to leave this game than for people to regain or retain interest in this game and every patch is like "enough is enough" for some people. Fanboys can claim "that will never happen to them" but I feel pretty confident you gave up on a different game before you came to this one...
It's just gotten to the point to where many people see Yoshi-P as a mere hype-man, saying whatever empty words or exaggerations are necessary to try to keep the subscriptions coming, instead of a distinguishable producer. You know there are "some" truths to his statements but u never know what your going to have to shovel through to get to it. Like his pre-written statement concerning player housing, he admits the truth of the under-developed state of the housing instances but he over-exaggerates deeply how doubling the ward counts will make things "good". You are doubling Wards at the same time that u are exponentially more increasing demand by mixing personal housing in with FC housing, he ALREADY knows this is not good enough to really fix anything but he LIES for the subs. A distinguishable producer doesn't write a letter of excuses before the content goes live, they make sure the content does not need excuses because the content is good.
Each patch just feels like you're being told you're getting a fancy new car over and over and over, then when it's all said and done they throw a rusty, broke-down Pinto your way and say "it's still a car", "Please look forward to a nicer car", then get stuck with yet another broke-down Pinto the next time.
If the housing wasn't such an issue he wouldn't of had that letter of apology ready before the patch went live and the forum servers wouldn't be getting congested... And it wouldn't of gotten so congested when they also disenfranchised the players with the initial FC housing debacle...
