As the approach seems odd and not well tought, I don´t see how this will "KILL" the game,...

I can´t think of people playing this stuff now for a year, doing all this adventuring to close the timegap, and now just to play "Sims 2.38 - Eorzea Stuff".

lol, it's been floating this game for 4 years now and the only time it didnt really disappoint players was when the servers were shutdown and Betas (excluding ARR's Open Beta - 3102)

What content is gated by housing? Chocobo dying? The garden only produced items that are used for more housing items, or for training your (useless) Chocobo companion.

so they expect us to pay 70 million for a large useless plot?

I mean hey, just because it's useless to you doesn't mean it's useless to everyone... There's good money to be made in gardening and some of us like dying and training or (useless) chocobos

The amounts of overreaction is hilarious. When the minority of us cry about the ATMA grind, most of you respond with "YOU NEED TO EARN IT" "STOP WANTING EVERYTHING HANDED TO YOU" "YOU JUST WANT IT HANDED TO YOU"

I'm looking at this thread and just like that the attitude has flip-flopped. The same people who scream at the rooftops about needing to your earn your stripes in this game are now threating to quit because how hard housing is gonna be to get. You want personal housing? Save your gil. Earn it. Camp for server reopening and quickly grab a spot. Stop wanting everything handed to you! And be okay with the idea that its not everyone, and that you might never attain it - but hey, thats what makes it so unique right? Thats a good thing, right? Lol, these forums crack me up.

This may not kill the game but it doesn't exactly put people at ease for what's to come either. "You'll all be back for Ninja" .. Why? So they can be disappointed by that too? Even if it does turn out to be the greatest thing in the world why are they gonna bother giving it a chance when something they've been waiting for (no matter how insignificant you may think it is) for a long time turned out like.. This..

Even if the amount of people who leave because of this seems negligible the game is still losing subscriptions and if this kind of thing keeps up it will continue to lose them. So no, this may not be the end of Eorzea but it wasn't just one thing that destroyed 1.0 either.

The amount of complaints is still not as much as when FC housing prices were released, as well as the amount of threats of the game dying that never materialized. OP are you personally going to quit or are the quitters always going to be nameless other people while you vindicate SE's decisions with your paying sub.

LOL. This is so true, but in my defense I am against both mechanics lol

But yea I guess it is true that the game will not die, after all Ultima Online and Everquest are still live games.... But there are several of us players that do not want to see this game die off anymore rapidly than can be helped and the one's that act like nothing is wrong are the one's that are helping it die

Actually, no one would be complaining, as Yoshida already explained why there are only two wards being added, so people would just race to get it, and wait until 2.4 until more Wards are being added.

Sorry, but you just don't get why people are upset over this. I don't even need a personal house, I have a FC house that is just myself that I bought for the ridiculous 8m price tag before the 25% - 50% price drop only weeks later, and even I see that this is complete shit.

We should have just got instanced houses or a separate personal housing wards to justify a cheaper cost for small houses, not tweak some things to let single people buy a FC house without access to personal rooms lel.

I agree about how personal housing should of been instanced, and the worst thing about not instancing personal housing is the fact that the Dev's already knew that the current housing servers cannot even support enough plots of land for all the FCs desiring houses; add 2 Wards and double the total wards for 2.4 and even in 2.4 the amount of plots of land will be NO WHERE NEAR enough for personal housing demand and the later and later it takes them to come up with resources to provide more plots the more the demand will continue to outgrow the supply... It's a snowballing effect and the Devs are just going along for the ride thinking a miracle will eventually happen. Only time the demand will stabilize with the supply with their current method is when enough people quit to where everyone who still plays already has a house.
