This is what bothers me the most. Not to mention the patch is basically, "Housing! But only if you're rich. PVP! Oh wait a lot of you don't care about that. Relics! I guess? ... No, that's it. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!"

I've been pissed off at the game and at Yoshi for his decisions in the past, but my sub just renewed, and this is the very first time since 2010 where I felt like I've completely wasted that money.

I wouldn't consider RMT for housing if I were you.
Considering how few plots there are I imagine every purchaser's gil history will be checked.

I think what morningstar is suggesting is something along the lines of:
1) RMT buys house as individual
2) RMT posts the house with plot and server on their website for real life $$
3) SE somehow catches wind of this and bans the RMT's account, thus removing the gil the RMT used to buy the house while freeing the plot up for legitimate players

My gut tells me there's a loophole somewhere in there that would benefit the RMT, but I can't think of one right now.

real player gets banned and RMT to and lot isnt freed

My boyfriend and I have been saving since the start of the game for personal housing. We have a little over 10 million gil between us now and expected to be able to get at least a medium house or maybe hold out for a large. It was stated that personal housing would be cheaper than FC housing but the cost of a medium house on Tonberry is exactly the same. The price of a small house is half and a large is almost three-quarters. Do they think that FCs consist of one or two people? If they did, we wouldn't need personal housing anyway. I'm honestly so disappointed. I expected something to work towards, but I'd need to become a career crafter to afford even a medium house. Sorry for the whiny post, but I just feel incredibly disheartened after seeing these prices...

there's a loop hole in there that benefits SE, that's all that matters

In the live letter when they explained the economy and the use of gil sinks to remove gil from the game. Well here are the gil sinks they talked about, they gave us a heads up, they all but said it. I said this in a post earlier today that the housing would be a lot more than players were planning on. I did not see them using the FC housing as player housing though. These house are meant to be long term investment in the game, not 100 gil have it day one. We do that which challenges us and this is like novus, it is a challenge and will take time. When you look at the life of the game over the long term of years, The prices are not bad. Given the grind we did for novus, this is not so bad. Though I am not saying it will be an over night thing to get housing, give it time.

Removing a million or two from every person would've been a much more effective gil sink than two wards don't you think? They just halfassed it, no ifs and buts.
