Change Class inside Duty - Voting System

I'm not sure how many times this has been suggested, but why not make this a thing?

Simple proposal: If you want to change class, you can put it up to a vote. 80% of the current party must agree (6/7, 5/6, etc...). You may not attempt a class change during combat. Your new gearset's iLvl will be shown during voting. No skills will go on cooldown.

As for why, there are many reasons. None of them are required to complete the dungeon in any way, but makes it more convenient/less stressful.
-Two PLD, one would like to switch to WAR, vice versa.
-Two SCH, one would like to switch to WHM, vice versa.
-Two WHM, would like a dps to switch to BRD.
-Two melee/mage + Two BRD, would like mage/melee LB.
-Dungeon really only needs one tank or one healer.

What are the possible exploits? What other restrictions can be placed to prevent said exploits?

EDIT: Additional restrictions to prevent abuse/troll:
-You may ONLY change class at the beginning of a dungeon OR after a complete wipe OR when the party is not full.

I feel like I remember reading an official response on this, but I can't seem to find it atm.

As for exploits, changing classes during a loot roll might be able to cause some problems, but if it's a vote probably not too many. They might as well put the same limiters as dismiss/abandon (minus the minimum wait time) to be safe though.

I've also seen a few of the opinion that it will cause many dungeon runs to "require" people (read: many people expect of others) to have multiple geared jobs at 50. For instance, bring 4 dps (SMN+BLMx3) or something else for all the trash in a dungeon and then have one person switch to tank/heal for bosses.

I myself am not of this opinion however, I think changing class inside of duties would be a good addition. I am of the opinion "why not?"

I'm sure some other people can think of problems, but I really hate having to consider trolling and whatnot as reasons to not add a system.

I can't remember where, but I seem to recall the concern was that if someone wasn't able to switch then it could lead to an abuse of vote kick - "oh, you can't change to x class? Kick him".

Yeah this isn't a bad concept but might lead to trolling, etc.

Thanks everyone for your response. I know from experience that every time you suggest something to an MMO, there's bound to be people trolling, so you have to see if you can minimize it.

For both of these problems, I suggest that you can ONLY change class at the beginning of a dungeon/raid, OR after a complete wipe. Although this restriction will not allow for creativity (such as going full dps for trash), it will prevent loot concerns and unreal expectations.

Since you're in a dungeon, you'd probably have the cooldowns reset like changing jobs outside of town, so you'd have to wait on that and players (on the whole) HATE waiting. It's bad enough waiting on timers when changing cross-class skills mid-run, which is the main reason I personally don't bother unless it's super vital.

I would also like to add, when you no longer have full capacity for the dungeon. It is pain waiting on that healer or tank mid dungeon to replace the person that left.

    For whenever,...>>>> NO

In the event someone ragequits, DC's is voted out or just plain leaves, then yes. HOWEVER...when the previous is the case a confirmation window appears asking the remaining players if they want to simply replenish the ranks OR adjust current jobs first then replenish. This can be a double edged sword with many different possibilities. Could hose said job that is missing on getting in and increase their wait time. Some players might not wanna change because they are there to lvl a certain class or whatever.

Now that I think of it more, that suggestion isn't even right. We should not be allowed to change within the duty. Doing so could have a large domino effect on the rest of the player base waiting to get into a duty.

I would like to see being able to accept the DF pop on whatever job your on at the time, but once your inside the circle your stuck until you change to the job you qued up as. Prolly would need a auto kick for trolls after a set time, but trying to outrun that fate after a DPS que time and just missing it sucks
