Question about room and leaving FC

Due to certain circumstances in my current FC, I am wanting to leave the FC, but I have a room with furniture and not sure how that works. I read about it somewhere, but do not feel like looking for it since I don't remember where I read.

Do I get my 300k gil back or at least something to redeem for a room if I join another FC? What about the furniture? I remember reading that in last patch they changed something related to this so that it wouldn't be a complete loss if leaving an FC.

You get your non-unique furniture at the Calamity Salvager NPC if the FC leader decides to kick you from the FC. If you leave an FC manually, you have to pick up your furniture and destroy the room yourself before doing so. Unless it's a one-time item like crafting stations or primal/coil furniture, you can store them away to use in your next room.

Either way, you never get your 300k back.

Yeah I'd highly recommend spending at least a few months with a FC to see if they are the kind of people one wants to spend time with or not before investing into the FC housing market. Given how the game works with communication, the best FC is probably one that is more focused on building a community, leaving the actual raid organization and other specialized tasks to LSes. It runs a bit afoul of what most people are used to coming from other MMOs where there's only two layers to the whole onion of communication, but that is how it is in this game with Linkshells, public chat, and free companies.

Thanks, but what do you mean by salvager of the FC leader? Did you mean if instead of of? I guess that isn't too bad. Hope my moogle rug doesn't count as something I can't store. Getting 300k back shouldn't be too hard. Can probably earn it back on same day if a good day. Still hate to throw away 300k though.

I have been with this FC many months. It's an FC I helped build, including website, and was co-leader, but a couple of the officers that dislike me because of my disabilities ended up getting me demoted, and two other officers voted to demote me due to misunderstandings and I was not able to be at that meeting to defend myself due to real life circumstances, and even though the leader knows this he refuses to call another meeting to make things right saying his hands are tied, which is ridiculous because in special circumstances like this a vote can be recalled if due to a mistake or misunderstanding. Getting crapped on after everything I've done is awful. I don't want to be a part of that. I can't even raid in this FC now because I'm a member of our core progressive raid group, which has 3 of the officers that voted to get me demoted, 2 of which dislike me because of my disabilities after they found out via my facebook.

It it makes you feel better, I just bought my third room. So I have lost about 600k on rooms alone.
Yea it will sting a bit, knowing how much you paid for one. But like you said shouldn't take long to get that money back.

I meant "if", sorry. Salvager = Calamity Salvager NPC, the guy you can buy old event items from. Moogle rug you can pick up and move. Garuda Couches, Ifrit Lamps, Behemoth trophies, ADS tables, Cooking Station etc, you cannot pick up without destroying it.

Sorry to hear about your FC relations, but to be honest in that kind of environment 300k and some furniture are the least of your in-game worries.

FC rooms always seemed like such a waste when personal housing was inevitable. Hope you get it all sorted out, though.

Yikes, I didn't know about your situation. Yeah I would salvage what you can and start over as that situation is pretty deplorable.
