2 Questions for Bards

1-Have you ever had to use your LB?

If so, how often, or do you remember the last time you use it.

My answer: I used mine once over a year ago (No joke)

2-How often do you see dps not use their dmg LB when they need to?

My answer: 95% of the time.


P.S. This is not a topic to beg SE to give Bards dmg dps, it's not gonna happen ever so why bother?

I've had to pull out the Bard LB plenty of times during primal fights.
And yeah, I've seen LB's go unused plenty of times but usually only in lower level dungeons.

I've seen this happen a couple of times. Pretty useful in those situations.

Getting double Bard in DF... crap. Not so much need for LB here.

1- Yes, albeit very rarely. Used it maybe 2 or 3 times. Last time I remember having to use it was back when Titan Extreme was still new content and the healers were both down. I was still back on Excalibur at the time lol.

2- Kinda off and on, but in my experience I'd say it gets used more often than not. For the few that don't use it I think some people just get tunnel vision and forget it's even there, or are just too timid and shy about using it.

last time i used my LB was during cutters cry last boss and that was like over 2 months ago i rarely see ppl use LB on bosses during ST but they get used alot during Prim HM when i did them

really wish bards had a DPS LB and not a lame ass healing LB bards arnt really support class they are dps

note: I'm not a bard and don't pretend to be. This is just a response from a healer's point of view.


1: A few times. As WHM being my primary job I always feel a little better to see a BRD in my party to give me assistance with MP or Limit Break If I need it..
Unfortunately, the healer LB hardly pays off if it's a near wipe but I sure am glad when it does.


2: Lol. Define "need". Theres only a few fights I can think of that actually REQUIRE a LB. That's MOG EX, BRAYFLOX, TITAN EX(ads, optional strategy), LEVI EX(optional strategy), IFRIT EX(giant nail, optional[?]), TURN 4(rook). Unless it's to skip a phase or to beat a enrage timer/mechanic, it's not "needed" but who wouldn't welcome more damage.

So what this topic is about then?

Just curious to see if Bards around have the same experience. I don't like to get into the "dmg lb for bards" debate since people disregard bards as dps and call them fully support class, which doesn't make much sense to me.

Even though Bard LB is super situational, sometimes, it's perfect. Other night I queued for Ultima HM in duty finder (pfftttt) and we made it through to the last set of spheres, got no tank (or healer!!) limit break, so we lost everyone but me and one little monk, desperately clinging to life with Ultima breathing down his neck--and the chatbox just explodes with "Nooo, we were so close!!" and "Wipeeeeee."

My Bard LB macro? "NOT TODAY."

Most commendations I ever got as a DPS.

Heh. Last time I had to use LB was in Ramuh EX a few days ago. <.< Ramuh EX can be very unforgiving when you get bad luck and we were able to recover ^^.
