Changing Free Companies - What will happen to your PVP Rank?

I'm going to ask here. The search function didn't really give me anything good although I know this has been asked before.

Do you keep your PVP Rank if you switch Grand Companies* (thanks for pointing that out Maethus)?

From my understanding, changing GC resets your PVP rank, since it is tied to that company

I switched to Flames after I got my mount with Adders because I wanted to get the Allied Seals mage gear since it looks badass, and the Flames Horsey.. Well, your rank doesn't "reset", they just don't acknowledged it in your new GC. Meaning you'll start at Rank 1 and 0 points for abilities.

It was all worthless though because I couldn't use my Adders horsey due to GC allegiance. So after the 15 days I went back to Adders and my Rank was still intact.
