Question about ATMA and FATEs

I know that the drop rate is random, and as far as I know it is any FATE within each particular zone... but my question is, does it rely on amount of contribution of kills? Or is it just participation in the FATE? Been farming for awhile now, and it's pretty busy with other people farming their ATMAs, I'm lucky if I get a few gil and xp at completion I think my concern is if there's no chance of a drop if contribution is barely there... thank you for any help!

I got an Atma for literally using one skill on one mob before the FATE completed.

Whether chances increase with contribution, I couldn't say. But there's some kind of chance as long as you get a reward from the FATE (well, and the FATE is completed; don't think you can get them from failed FATEs).

Ok, thank you Bixby, that's what I wanted to know really I'm lucky if I get one hit in with the farming ATMA horde lol.

(1) You need the Zenith weapon equipped. (2) the fate must complete successfully. (3) you can get bronze, silver or gold. Doesn't matter, only participation.

It only counts that you participated in. So technically, if there are a lot of player running FATEs, you could just kill one and run off to the next. As long as the FATE is successful, you have a chance. That's the least they could have done.
