thank you that's very helpfulHey majorj0nny,
Just happened to be browsing the thread and noticed you are Cerberus server. If you need help feel free to send me a tell if I'm on, my characters are Laura Bailey and Rebecca Oriane. Alternatively, you can stop by the Shadowwarriaz FC in Plot 6, Ward 2 of Gridania if you need help or a FC. We typically don't do leveling as most of the leadership is done w/ that, but we are a mostly social FC that can offer advice on most jobs and we have a few crafters to help you right your gear.![]()

This right here is your best bet for some help. They'll be able able to set you up and in the right direction, not so sure you're getting the help needed here.Hey majorj0nny,

There are lots of good people around and you can learn lots from them - the game has no real "manual" and much of what you learn is from other people's experience. I know how dispiriting the bad seeds can be and their impact is far more than their number. Just gotta learn to ignore them (hard as this can be), and also learn as much as you can from all the good folk around.
thanks for the kind words^^^

Hmm I think people in this game are VERY tolerant.
Just tell them that it is your first time in and that they should advise if there's anything noteworthy.
I'm a healer and I never got kicked or flamed, even if I made a mistake, died and wiped the party.
At 50 there is going to be ilevel gear requirements; so yes you will need to upgrade your gear in order to access those new dungeons and part of them are main story requirements.
Also if others explain to you about your gear; they are probably not hating on you; in fact they are probably giving you a heads up next time I suppose. The only problem is that they address it in a negative form, (ex. Why don't you have any jewelry?)
Also if you are not sure about anything ASK QUESTIONS!!, ask your FC, ask your friends, ask in link shell, ask your party members that you que'd with. There is nothing wrong with anything in particular that you are totally not sure of to ask. And depending on the person, he/she can help you or answer you. If you are eager to learn something, why not ask right?

This.
God I hate silent people that constantly fail.
It takes me what 30 seconds to explain a boss opposed to a 3 minute wipe?
ASK. I will answer if I have the knowledge.
Unless my Keyboard goes up in smoke ofc.![]()

Was just in a DF Cutter's Cry where a healer apologized for lack of experience. The tank replied that lack of experience is nothing to be sorry about. We need more of people like this. Of course, the conversation was in Japanese and since I didn't know what to reply, I just typed that "I seem to have misplaced my keyboard".

You can be new and still have common sense. Sorry for expecting too much.

If you are new, you have no idea what is expected. That "common sense" only comes with experience. Heck. Even all common sense comes with experience.
There is no such thing as an intuitive "common sense", especially when someone is totally new at something.
