A (possible) fix for RMT "/Tell Bots"

I believe that RMT-bots plaguing FFXIV players by spamming /Tell messages is a very annoying occurrence during gameplay.

To help counteract this, SE could change it so /Tell is restricted until a player reaches Level 5 in any class. This would not be a very big problem at all to new players who can still use /say, /shout, ect; but this Will be a hindrance to Bots, as it will require human input to level a character to 5, rather that it being entirely automated on the RMT-Seller's end. Bots could still use /say and /shout to advertise, but they would be reported far faster and by more people than with direct access to /tell.
This would also help relieve the annoyance of bots sending a Friend Invite to hinder players from using the Blacklist feature.

I know that this is not a permanent fix, but I believe it would help slow down the creation of bots, and other accounts created solely to partake in illicit activities.

Yea it doesnt take long to get the 5, but hes right it takes a real person to play behind that character to 5 the advantage they have is that they can mass produce characters and mas send send tells

Or they could just auto ban someone who gets 50+ blacklists within a certain time period.

But that would still only slow them down a couple hours or so. They'd figure out ways around it.

I actually liked an idea someone posted a few days ago, just give players the option of enabling/disabling friend requests altogether, because that's the only thing I can really see that solve the whole friend request problem with spammers right now.

well to be honest my black list is full of them so just unfriending them when they send a friend request is really not gonna prevent them from sending me tells and i personally think that eather we get a auto report bottom to report them on the spot or increase the black list limit it is a little frustrating because they make sure to tell us that is illegal and that if we get caught buying this we will get band but there so many of this ppl sending tell and even shouts some times and instead of decreasing more of them are popping out of nowhere

Clear it out. The oldest entries probably aren't around anymore. Don't wait for them to show as (Deleted), because they don't delete characters when they ban accounts:

I wanted to provide a bit of information and insight to address these concerns, which will hopefully help keep you from filling up your blacklist with RMT names that are never removed.

Once an account is found guilty of RMT solicitation, it is suspended indefinitely. However, the characters on that account are not deleted, since the suspension of the account is sufficient to prevent further solicitation from the account. Deleting the characters is an additional step that is not taken, since it is unnecessary, time consuming, and could result in account damage or loss in the case of a suspension that needs to be lifted, such as in the case of a compromised account used for RMT solicitation.

The blacklist is recommended as a temporary resolution to alleviate the unwanted solicitation, and is not meant to be a permanent state you place these names into. Removing the names periodically should allow us time to complete our investigation, and free up room in your blacklist if another account is used to solicit RMT.

Hmm, I wouldn't auto-ban anyone. Better to have a GM notified instead and let them decide on the scenario at hand.

Imagine the (abuse of) power that an FC/LS would have by all blacklisting someone at the same time for pulling a hunt mob too soon or something.

i try and i actually save the name to c if they will send me tells and guess what yes there are still around to bother ppl and the keep spaming me whit tells

i love this idea but i think it should be lvl 10 instead of lvl 5 since it only takes a few min to get to lvl 5
