No actually, you lose the glow, but instead get a recolor and have absolutely no stat or damage increase, despite it being a higher item level.

Sphairai Zodiac for example.

Zodiac weapon chain/series. So it being called in its final incarnation Zodiac makes sense (to me at least ^_^ ).

I think the devs forgot how to be creative. They only know how to rebrand old shit with a new look. You can wrap a turd in tin foil, but it's still just a turd.

I agree with this. I would like some nice flare to the Zodiacs, such as Enhancing job skills or additional effects. Example, Gae Bolg Zodiac "Increases Jump Potency by 10" or Holy Shield Zodiac "Returns 1% of damage to attackers"

As much as I love things like that, I really don't like seeing them in MMOs.

Main reason is gear elitism.

"Don't join if you don't have x item"
"Don't join if your weapon doesn't have x ability"

It's happened in every MMO (that I've played) that has had unique effects on the gear, and I hate it.

You can make them so weak that it just isn't worth it to be elitist over the special effects, but then I have to argue about what the point of it is if they're that negligible.
