I am not sure why people argue which parts of ffxi were "good" and which were "bad", or why pre-abyssea was to some the best or why post-abyssea was for some the best.

There's no right answer as everything is a personal opinion only, so why waste time even chatting about it. We can all agree to disagree on most topics and "preferences" on any game in every forum anyway lol

That said I personally much prefer ffxi post- abyssea, I have played since NA release, have never unsubbed and I enjoy the aspects of the newer ffxi far better then the older. But that's simply my preference. I realize others think far differently, they are neither more correct nor wrong either.

I have always pushed that there needs to be content for all playstyles in every MMO I play, pushed for that in here as well to try to make se see that there needs to be similar rewards for all playstyles and enough content to satisfy the hardcore , average playtime customer and for the casual playtime customer.

All playstyles are equally valuable to every game, with not one single style more important then the other.

End game should never ever just be for hardcore . That's imo where most games go wrong. They need to offer very similar rewards but completely different paths of achieving, one for hardcore, average playtime, and for time restricted casuals. Rewards must be equal or very similar with the only difference being the time to achieve separating playstyles. Allow ppl to chose the path that suits their life/preference the best without the pressure to completely change their life to take part in end game.

Anyway I drifted, I apologize...

Because of this Redemption, I did indeed sign the petition, not because I would ever want to go back to the first days of ffxi...no way in h_ _ _ lol but I fully agree that there should be an option for those that may enjoy it... more players happy in any mmo, the better.

This topic has been brought up in wow millions of times as well, the developers have still said No upfront, but many still try, again I see no harm in doing so. I am not in the business so maybe there is more data somewhere that gives them the impression it would not be "worth" it financially idk...but from an outside customer view I see more options as a step in the right direction...always.
