Can we get a response as to whether or not they are legit gone or if there was another site error? I'm sorry if I'm coming off as a jerk, but im just upset that I got screwed out again on tickets for this thing and I doubt I'm going to get another second chance like before unless it was an error.

I understand that there were a limited number of these VIP upgrades, but I'm not sure why it was allowed that only a single ticket be upgraded out of multiple tickets purchased. Obviously, you would only wish to be upgrading to VIP with the people you purchased tickets for and not be separated. I would rather give my 1 VIP upgrade to someone else then force my group to be separated because of this. Are there going to be any opportunities in the future to relinquish VIP or upgrade other tickets purchased by single person that did manage to upgrade 1 ticket?

I was able to upgrade both mine and my husband's ticket, I just had to do them separately since they're individual tickets, so I had two tabs open, one for mine and one for his.

That's my point. That there was actually a chance that you both didn't get upgraded even if the tickets were purchased under the same account seems like a bad decision. Now there are people out there like me who purchased 3 tickets and only have 1 upgraded.

I was at a convention with absolutely godawful wireless that kept cutting out every few minutes. I had two tabs open at the code renewal page. As soon as one started swirling longer than the 1 second it took to invalidate the code, I switched tabs and hit Submit in the other. I wasn't sure if the network was cutting out, so I immediately opened another tab to check connectivity. It was working fine, and then the Eventbrite pages loaded. Got both tickets.

Hell, I even found some random event to donate $1 to so that I could get my credit card info pre-saved into Eventbrite in case that was going to be a problem.

It was the same thing with the initial ticket purchase - people complaining they either couldn't get hotel rooms or that they had already booked airfare. Some people are just terrible at planning. I had my hotel booked the day FanFest was announced - I can always cancel - and I didn't book my non-refundable airfare until I had quadruple-confirmation that I got my tickets.

Bad planners.

I know Eventbrite has its faults and such. The "split party" thing is Eventbrite's fault, not Square's. Yeah, the voucher code should've been case-insensitive and all that, but plan on it not being the case. Don't leave this stuff to chance.

And as an aside, you can't lay this one on Eventbrite being unable to handle the load. The only people going for this are people that already had tickets. Plenty of people did not get tickets. Those people weren't hammering the system again.

Just because you managed to upgrade your tickets doesn't mean other people were bad planners. People that tried to get VIP tickets were there at the time when the upgrades came on sale. There wasn't any notices that you would need to upgrade those tickets in individual tabs, but even after I did one, I tried to open up my other two in separate tabs, but to no avail. (I got to the purchase window, but it said there weren't enough tickets left. I also had all my information saved as well to make the process speedy.) I'm not blaming Eventbrite either. I'm blaming SE for making the decision to work with eventbrite if it was only going to be able to upgrade 1 ticket out of how many were purchased. When using eventbrite to purchase the tickets originally, you could purchase up to 4 tickets once you did get in. Why wouldn't it be a similar method for the VIP upgrades?

Honestly, the whole system was pretty flawed. From purchasing tickets to upgrades.

The tickets must be transferred separately, so to upgrade to a VIP ticket for all your purchased tickets, you will need to do it one at a time.

They warned us on the official VIP Ticket Thread.

No, other people in this thread specifically talking about dumb things they did which hindered their ability to purchase upgrades means other people are bad planners.
