VIP Tickets! What do you think? (NA Fan Fest)

So, I've just received an email providing me with details about how to upgrade my ticket to a VIP ticket. Here are the basic details:

1) You can upgrade any amount of tickets you have ALREADY purchased for an added price of $80. (Aka, a total of $200 per ticket... $120 of which you already paid for.)
2) There are only 250 VIP tickets available, and if I recall correctly... Even when thousands of tickets went on sale for the initial group, the servers kept locking up and a lot of people didn't get the tickets they wanted.
3) For paying the added $80 fee, you are given: VIP attendee badge; VIP attendee t-shirt; Separate registration line for badge pickup; Reserved seating in the front rows for all stage activities; Exclusive signing session access with guests from the FFXIV Development Team; Early access to the event on Saturday & Sunday; 10% discount on merchandise sold at the event; One (1) free drink ticket at cash bars within Fan Festival 2014 at the Rio Hotel & Casino* (must be 21+)
4) Upgrades go 'on sale' starting on Wednesday, September 17, at 10:30 a.m. (PDT) on a first-come, first-serve basis.

So, who wants these tickets? Also, who's going to be lucky enough to get them? I imagine if you are someone who plans to spend a lot of money on merchandise, you would benefit from that 10% discount. Plus, the little bonuses are pretty nice... and $80 isn't that much if you're already dumping so much money on travel and lodging.

None of us are VIP -- these perks didn't exist when even the general public bought tickets a week after us. We would all have to pay for the upgrade.

Yea, some of these perks sound really nice.

These perks are nice, but... Sounds to me it's just another way to make more money with the tickets itself. I don't believe i'll upgrade.

I like the upgrades, but IMO it's not worth $80 a pop...

Ehhh.... $80 is a little high... But I think I might get it.. because why not.. My first ever convention... so I want to make it a bang....

I'm with BeePee on this one. Attractive upgrades and whatnot, but between me and the fiance, it'd cost us $160! We can think of all sorts of better ways to spend that kind of dough in Vegas.

Now $50 or even $60 would be more doable.

I will be trying to get a couple, for me I plan on buying a lot of merchandise anyway and why not really already spending a decent chunk to get down there so may as well
