no they dont, theyre all too stupid to know what a G15 is or do a simple google search, so they just bash you with "ROFL WOW BOTTER GTFO."To the OP, I also have a G15, while its impossible to tell if you are using the bindable macro keys G1-6 in the game, Technically speaking it is illegal to use (although I used them all the time back in XIs days since I hated that lag between holding Alt key and pushing a number key to issue a macro command; sometimes in the bigger fights in that game it was a pain in the ass)
To all the people laughing and ridiculing the OP, you guys do realize that the G15 KEYBOARD is not a botting program? Botting means you go afk and do whatever you want to do, watch TV, eat a pizza, pick your nose, masturbate, etc. He would still have to push the keys to execute anything in the game, so its technically NOT botting, its short-cutting, which is what the keyboard is all about and a shame that XIV doesn't utilize it or its on board screen (on the keyboard) naturally in the game as it would be pretty awesome.
Also to make claims that XIV's crafting system has ANY challenge to it, is what really is laughable.
Quite a nice intelligent community i've found here.
Yeah, you took a lot of unnecessary flak from individuals in this thread. I was going to chew one of them out but deleted my post since it wasn't worth my time.
Personally, to me, I don't know what the difference would be to what you do vs the commonly stated "Netflix" argument. Frankly, I don't know how the "Netflix" argument is any significant difference than those who choose to use bots. Smashing enter while someone isn't paying attention doesn't make that individual a better player, and it sure doesn't highlight your personal interest in the system.
The issue is plain and easy to see - either way that people do it to minimize their attention to the crafting is that Square made it too tedious and it needs major revamps. I've made hundreds of mind-numbingly boring masks, and this didn't add to the game in any way, and it didn't serve to "preserve" the crafting base anyhow.
So many players here seem to want aspects of the game to be defined by time vs the challenge from mechanics, just kinda weird to me, but it's also weird to me that players seem to think FFXIV is a more difficult game than WoW, and I would argue that FFXIV is an easier game right now mechanic wise.
If I was in charge of the game I would make some sort of Tetra Master system for crafting. Different cards that would come into play would be influenced by the statistics on your gear, and how you would perform in that sort of crafting mechanism would help determine the quantity and quality of the items you received; or maybe they wouldn't consume the materials because of your efficiency.
Rewarding players who intricately understand the mechanisms by which the game works seems to be a hell of a lot of a better system than seeing who can smash enter mindlessly. With that method I would also cut out over 50% of the synths required to hit rank 50.

As many stated, it's tecnically illegal using automated macros, but there's no way for SE to distinguish from a human imput and an automated one, until they put some protection program...or a keylogger.
That said, since that keyboard require a person to actually use the keys, it's not a legit bot
yeah the OP would be standing in that foggy "unofficial windower" ground that was with FFXI, SE said they always disapproved of it, because it could be potentially used for bigger cheats, but in my whole time of playing XI and using the windower (because this was way back when the official one didn't exist) I never was banned or even warned from any GM or STFU rep...I suggest just keeping quiet when you use it and count your Eorzean blessings.
Oh. The windower was illegal...?
Harrharrharr... I am a pirate then, after all!
HARRHARRHARR!
A lot of people seems not ot understand what "illegal" means.
By no means a bot can be illegal, and that had nothing to do with SE having the right of shuting down you account for using one. SE has the right to shut down you account for no reason anyway.
April 1st actually, and I didn't even believe Sony when they announced it due to April fools, but I soon learnt it was true when I had to choose between updates and Linux ; ; That update is why I went out and spent £2000 on my current computer. >.<
Yea, if the OP had said he was using actual bot scripts, I would have /kill myself lol. But G15 keyboard macros.... Just keep it on the downlowyeah the OP would be standing in that foggy "unofficial windower" ground that was with FFXI, SE said they always disapproved of it, because it could be potentially used for bigger cheats, but in my whole time of playing XI and using the windower (because this was way back when the official one didn't exist) I never was banned or even warned from any GM or STFU rep...I suggest just keeping quiet when you use it and count your Eorzean blessings..
A pure software macro program downloaded from the internet I can understand not using, because those can come with keyloggers or other trojans/viruses and get you hacked. I doubt a major company like Logitec would put or leave such things in their drivers.
To the op your G15 is fine cause you still have to press buttons so you are ok.
