To the OP, I also have a G15, while its impossible to tell if you are using the bindable macro keys G1-6 in the game, Technically speaking it is illegal to use (although I used them all the time back in XIs days since I hated that lag between holding Alt key and pushing a number key to issue a macro command; sometimes in the bigger fights in that game it was a pain in the ass)

To all the people laughing and ridiculing the OP, you guys do realize that the G15 KEYBOARD is not a botting program? Botting means you go afk and do whatever you want to do, watch TV, eat a pizza, pick your nose, masturbate, etc. He would still have to push the keys to execute anything in the game, so its technically NOT botting, its short-cutting, which is what the keyboard is all about and a shame that XIV doesn't utilize it or its on board screen (on the keyboard) naturally in the game as it would be pretty awesome.

Also to make claims that XIV's crafting system has ANY challenge to it, is what really is laughable.

no they dont, theyre all too stupid to know what a G15 is or do a simple google search, so they just bash you with "ROFL WOW BOTTER GTFO."
Quite a nice intelligent community i've found here.

Yeah, you took a lot of unnecessary flak from individuals in this thread. I was going to chew one of them out but deleted my post since it wasn't worth my time.

Personally, to me, I don't know what the difference would be to what you do vs the commonly stated "Netflix" argument. Frankly, I don't know how the "Netflix" argument is any significant difference than those who choose to use bots. Smashing enter while someone isn't paying attention doesn't make that individual a better player, and it sure doesn't highlight your personal interest in the system.

The issue is plain and easy to see - either way that people do it to minimize their attention to the crafting is that Square made it too tedious and it needs major revamps. I've made hundreds of mind-numbingly boring masks, and this didn't add to the game in any way, and it didn't serve to "preserve" the crafting base anyhow.

So many players here seem to want aspects of the game to be defined by time vs the challenge from mechanics, just kinda weird to me, but it's also weird to me that players seem to think FFXIV is a more difficult game than WoW, and I would argue that FFXIV is an easier game right now mechanic wise.

If I was in charge of the game I would make some sort of Tetra Master system for crafting. Different cards that would come into play would be influenced by the statistics on your gear, and how you would perform in that sort of crafting mechanism would help determine the quantity and quality of the items you received; or maybe they wouldn't consume the materials because of your efficiency.

Rewarding players who intricately understand the mechanisms by which the game works seems to be a hell of a lot of a better system than seeing who can smash enter mindlessly. With that method I would also cut out over 50% of the synths required to hit rank 50.
