Macro Programs? Illegal?

No manners? Dude lol you just came onto a FFXIV forum and asked about using bots..then admitted to using a bot in WoW (2 things that most FFXIV players don't like: bots and WoW). How do you expect people to react? Why would you ask SE about the use of bots when, if you had read the ToS, it clearly says that it's against the rules. The G15 keyboard, by itself, will not get you banned, but using the macro capability to spam standard synth WILL get you banned.

^this. Think about what you are asking before you ask it. If you have a suspicion that it may be against ToS, then chances are that you shouldn't be considering it. Even after admitting to "botting", you still persist. I really do hope there is a ban waiting for you just out of principle

lol at people defending the effort they put in pressing the crafting button, honestly. SE has done so many great mini-games in FF titles that I hope they add something like that to crafting aswell. Crafting by playing a quick match of something like Bejeweled would be fun while waiting for pt members or something.

I totally agree with that. SE should take the feedback into consideration, they could add a different minigame or put in a system similar to the implementation of auto-attack. Crafting could possibly automatically use standard synth unless rapid/bold or other skills are used otherwise.

When a person looks at the crafting system, they think it's cool how you can craft so many different things - but why do you have to mash standard synth everytime then go through a convoluted UI to repeat the process? How can one sit through so many synths in one sitting?

That's the main reason people bot: because it's fucking boring. But they acknowledge the rewards of it.
People who don't bot get mad over this because they've put a lot of time into it compared to the botters but in the end both get the same reward.

Other than the threat of RMT (and legal issues), why is botting through crafting labelled a terrible sin in this game?

Yea that's an interesting one. "Parts of game A are really boring to me. I could be playing stuff that's a lot more fun, but I really want a better character in game A. Let's see how I can do that without really having to play it."

No one cares about why you think WoW is a joke, the guy is asking an honest to god question and you guys get on his nuts about it, seriously? Answer the question, and gtfo... it was indeed a yes or no question, simple explanation of why or why-not would have sufficed.

Now to answer your question , yes you will probably get banned but again best bet is to call SE.

The answer is yes, the reason is "intended for both pc and play station".Also beware people here care more what you do than what they are doing themselves.

To the OP, I also have a G15, while its impossible to tell if you are using the bindable macro keys G1-6 in the game, Technically speaking it is illegal to use (although I used them all the time back in XIs days since I hated that lag between holding Alt key and pushing a number key to issue a macro command; sometimes in the bigger fights in that game it was a pain in the ass)

To all the people laughing and ridiculing the OP, you guys do realize that the G15 KEYBOARD is not a botting program? Botting means you go afk and do whatever you want to do, watch TV, eat a pizza, pick your nose, masturbate, etc. He would still have to push the keys to execute anything in the game, so its technically NOT botting, its short-cutting, which is what the keyboard is all about and a shame that XIV doesn't utilize it or its on board screen (on the keyboard) naturally in the game as it would be pretty awesome.

Also to make claims that XIV's crafting system has ANY challenge to it, is what really is laughable.

It seems people are having some long-term memory loss; in Final Fantasy XI, SE didn't care if you ever botted. Or, at least, their GMs didn't. The key problem they had was with those botting while AFK. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same here as well.

Quite a few crafters will have reached multiple 50 marks before the true hunt for botters even begins. A "mortage" that will burden the game community and turn off potential newcomers for many years to come.

do you even know what a g15 is? or a razer mouse? goodness, these arent bots, every game out there will let you use the macro feature of them. theyre not even considered third party software, as a script program would be. not only do you show your lack of intelligence, you show that your'e incoherent to even read that i stated that already. good day, moron.
