Sorry, I spent time and gil leveling and gearing my crafter. The things I make require materials and time. People exchange their gil for my materials and my time. The thing of it is, you can't sell items for a higher price than the market will bear. I check item history when listing things. If an item is selling for 10k, I'm going to list it for 10k; why would I list it for less, even if it's low level gear? That's just inviting someone to buy my item and relist it for a higher price. Honestly, most of the people paying 5-10k gil per piece for armor/weapons on the market are people that already have level 50's and are leveling up alts. Personally, I make my own gear to level in since I have all the DoH classes at 50. I also make gear for lower levels in my FC to help them level up faster.

I for one for most of my classes just went with the gear you get from quests or dungeon drops.
Could always ask a crafter to make you gear if you know any
Exactly. The gear given in the quests is fine to level in. Dungeon drops are even better. I disagree with you saying that crafters are taking advantage, though. Newbies aren't the only section of the playerbase that buy low-level gear.

In Eorzea if you want to take on powerful enemies and do difficult content you focus on your battle class. None of the top gear is bought from the markets, however if you want to make money I suggest you pick up your pickaxe and go bust up some rocks. I made a new character a few months ago and within a month had a level 50 battle class and 2M in the bank. You just have to do a bit of market research to see what is selling and fill that demand. Lower level stuff in the mid 20 range are always good sellers because high end crafters/gatherers don't want to bother with them anymore. At any rate, best of luck to you.

Most dungeon gear loot is unsellable, but I agree that they should be worth more than the suggested price if you sell them to npc.

I agree, you needing to be lv 25 just to post in thier forums is a bit too much, new players can't posts asking questions, etc.

Lastly, you have a limited amount that you can post per day based on level. Yes! There's even lockouts to how much you can posts daily based on your level..

The good thing about thier forums is it the thread is popular enough we may get dev responses/aactions.

IMO and with my experience of going from from level 1-50 on my first class, having large amounts of Gil is a non-issue at that point. I pretty much never needed to buy new gear since I would get everything that I needed through quests, dungeons, levequests, class/job quests, etc. Selling old gear didn't give me a lot of money but it was usually enough for repairs and such and since it was pretty much free as a quest reward it wasn't like I lost out on money. This coupled with the money you get from quests and the like you should have more than enough money to get you to your first lvl 50. Money only really becomes much of an issue at higher levels, at least IMO.

As for having items that you are sitting on and don't want to NPC vendor, your inventory should have enough room to hold most of everything. Most mats stack to 99 of them and its only really when your are leveling multiple crafting and gathering classes that you really experience the item bloat in your inventory.

Level 20/25 is very quick to get to and you should be able to reach those within a week or two of pretty casual play if you are following the story quests, job quests, etc. If you are trying to level by grinding mobs, well that doesn't work in this game.

As for the level limit requirement for the forums, I would guess that it is meant to be an attempt to prevent trolls from just creating accounts to troll the forums because you know people do actually do that a good amount in online forums.

As for the 1000 character limit for postings, yeah its sort of silly but has an easy work around.

Inflation starts at home. Any change they make to vendor prices would have to be balanced by a change to the costs of gil sinks. Net effect would be bigger numbers with no change in purchasing power. And there's no need to buy anything from crafters before you get your retainers. Everything you really need is available from vendors, and you get plenty to cover that from quests, leves, hests, etc.

The forum restrictions are weird. New players can post all they like in the New Player forum, though. And contrary to the warnings and stickies, off-topic posts (in any forum) don't tend to get any form of moderation (exhibit A: the website feedback forum, which is like 90% not website feedback), or at worst, moved to a more appropriate forum.

10 posts per page is only the default setting; it is bad, and you should feel bad if you haven't changed it.

Use that low level gear convert it and turn it into GIL.
That's what you need to be doing with all the gil that seems to have no value.

The market board economy is absolutely horrible for new players right now. The prices are absolutely meant to gouge players who already have a level 50 class and are working on other ones. And we could set our crafts to lower, more reasonable prices, but you'll never see them anyway; other people will buy them up and relist them and the original price.

Am I the only one that thinks it's funny they set a level 25 requirement to posting, but refuse to set any form of level limit for chat ingame to push back against the RMT's?

I'm surprised you're having this much of an issue finding a crafter to help you make some gear, Balmung is just lousy with crafters that have nothing better to do.

I dont think I sold a single item to npc or on mb until I was lvl 50 (only sold a few things recently cause armory and retainers full). Not once was I close to running out of gil. My armor came from quests or occassionally cheap crap from npc. Gear was mostly irrelevant until higher levels. I spent gil on TP, but easily made pleanty from quests and later leves. Whether an NPC gives 1 gil or 50 gil for useless armor seems irrelevant.
